the /boot/nextboot.conf file or its contents which is 1) not the most user-
friendly way of working with custom configurations, and 2) simply not true
for both Forth and Lua implementations: they would not delete it, but just
change the setting to "NO", that is, disable it.
While at it, add one missing serial (Oxford) comma and fix some bogus line
wraps along the way.

Fix unquoted test for an empty value, which broke nextboot(8) on non-ZFS /boot
systems after r365938.

bootonce feature is temporary, one time boot, activated by
"bectl activate -t BE", "bectl activate -T BE" will reset the bootonce flag.
By default, the bootonce setting is reset on attempt to boot and the next
boot will use previously active BE.
By setting zfs_bootonce_activate="YES" in rc.conf, the bootonce BE will
be set permanently active.
bootonce dataset name is recorded in boot pool labels, bootenv area.
in case of nextboot, the nextboot_enable boolean variable is recorded in
freebsd:nvstore nvlist, also stored in boot pool label bootenv area.
On boot, the loader will process /boot/nextboot.conf if nextboot_enable
is "YES", and will set nextboot_enable to "NO", preventing /boot/nextboot.conf
processing on next boot.
bootonce and nextboot features are usable in both UEFI and BIOS boot.
To use bootonce/nextboot features, the boot loader needs to be updated on disk;
if loader.efi is stored on ESP, then ESP needs to be updated and
for BIOS boot, stage2 (zfsboot or gptzfsboot) needs to be updated
(gpart or other tools).
At this time, only lua loader is updated.

process and leads to confusion.

fasthalt has behaved like reboot, instead of like halt, since r228408
(2011, 10.0-RELEASE). Fix it. One wonders if anyone will notice.

Perhaps RB_MUTE could mute user startup (rc) output as well, but right
now it mutes only kernel console output, so make the documentation match
reality.

prone - task.

to make it easier for automated tools to detect and summarize well known
opensource licenses. We are gradually adopting the specification, noting
that the tags are considered only advisory and do not, in any way,
superceed or replace the license texts.

When -c is specified, the system will be power cycled if the
underlying hardware supports it. Otherwise the system will be halted
or rebooted depending on which command was used.

Renumber cluase 4 to 3, per what everybody else did when BSD granted
them permission to remove clause 3. My insistance on keeping the same
numbering for legal reasons is too pedantic, so give up on that point.

A standalone reboot utility showed up in 4.0BSD, in AT&T UNIX init has a
case for reboot and is present in the version shipped with V5
either way, current entry is incorrect.

Add -N flag to reboot(8) which bypasses the userland sync(2) during
reboot(8) while still allow the kernel sync during the reboot(2) syscall
to occur.
An example use of this is when rebooting with disconnected iSCSI sessions
which would otherwise cause the reboot to hang on BIOs that will never
complete.

the root filesystem without full reboot, using "reboot -r". This can
be used to to eg. boot from a temporary md_image preloaded by loader(8),
setup an iSCSI session, and continue booting from rootfs mounted over
iSCSI.

go asking what debug flags to set for GEOM to make it work. Advice
them to use gpart(8) instead.
Something similar should probably done with disklabel,
but I need to rewrite the disklabel examples first.

Off by default, build behaves normally.
WITH_META_MODE we get auto objdir creation, the ability to
start build from anywhere in the tree.
Still need to add real targets under targets/ to build packages.
