87acc0db42 - Move lkmnosys() to kern_syscall.c
- Have the VFS lkm support use vfs_register() etc rather than having it's
  own version.
- Have the syscall lkm support use syscall_register() etc rather than
  having it's own verison.
- Convert the lkm driver to a module.

aa855a598d *gulp*. Jordan specifically OK'ed this..
This is the bulk of the support for doing kld modules. Two linker_sets
were replaced by SYSINIT()'s. VFS's and exec handlers are self registered.
kld is now a superset of lkm. I have converted most of them, they will
follow as a seperate commit as samples.
This all still works as a static a.out kernel using LKM's.

cae300be0f Made unloading of the nfs LKM sort of work. This is mainly to test
detachment of vfs sysctls. Unloading of vfs LKMs doesn't actually
work for any vfs, since it leaves garbage pointers to memory
allocation control structures.

e99ea9ec2b Ignore the statically configured vfs type numbers and assign vfs
type numbers in vfs attach order (modulo incomplete reuse of old
numbers after vfs LKMs are unloaded). This requires reinitializing
the sysctl tree (or at least the vfs subtree) for vfs's that support
sysctls (currently only nfs). sysctl_order() already handled
reinitialization reasonably except it checked for annulled self
references in the wrong place.

Fixed sysctls for vfs LKMs.

c41141b002 Fixed the formatting of some tables (mainly the one produced by ps
in ddb) which I broke by changing %8[l]x to %8p. Hacked the central
printf routine to not add an "0x" prefix for %p formats if the field
width is nonzero. The tables are still horribly misformatted on
64-bit machines.

Use %p instead of %8p to print pointers when the field width isn't
important.

d4d88b1e4d Cast between u_longs and object pointers via uintptr_t.
Access the entry address as a uintfptr_t, not as a long, and not
necessarily as what modload(8) passes (it takes a u_long from the
exec header and passes a u_int).

ecbb00a262 This commit fixes various 64bit portability problems required for
FreeBSD/alpha. The most significant item is to change the command
argument to ioctl functions from int to u_long. This change brings us
inline with various other BSD versions. Driver writers may like to
use (__FreeBSD_version == 300003) to detect this change.

The prototype FreeBSD/alpha machdep will follow in a couple of days
time.

This introduce an xxxFS_BOOT for each of the rootable filesystems.
(Presently not required, but encouraged to allow a smooth move of option *FS
to opt_dontuse.h later.)

LFS is temporarily disabled, and will be re-enabled tomorrow.

cb226aaa62 Move the "retval" (3rd) parameter from all syscall functions and put
it in struct proc instead.

This fixes a boatload of compiler warning, and removes a lot of cruft
from the sources.

I have not removed the /*ARGSUSED*/, they will require some looking at.

libkvm, ps and other userland struct proc frobbing programs will need
recompiled.

0ddf9be1f0 Make MOD_* macros almost consistent:
Use the name argument almost the same in all LKM types. Maintain
the current behavior for the external (e.g., modstat) name for DEV,
EXEC, and MISC types being #name ## "_mod" and SYCALL and VFS only
#name. This is a candidate for change and I vote just the name without
the "_mod".

Change the DISPATCH macro to MOD_DISPATCH for consistency with the
other macros.

Add an LKM_ANON #define to eliminate the magic -1 and associated
signed/unsigned warnings.

Add MOD_PRIVATE to support wcd.c's poking around in the lkm structure.

Change source in tree to use the new interface.

886ee0aa9f Fixed loading of vfs's. The Lite2 merge added unnecessary compatibility
cruft and resulted in loading usually following a null pointer. Use
something closer to the pre-Lite2 code, including not making a copy of
the new filesystem's config info. Not making a copy also fixes a race
for loading and a memory leak for unloading.

Fixed unloading of vfs's. maxvfsconf wasn't maintained.

Look up the vfs to unload by name instead of by number. The numbers
should go away as soon as all mount utilities are converted.

996c772f58 This is the kernel Lite/2 commit. There are some requisite userland
changes, so don't expect to be able to run the kernel as-is (very well)
without the appropriate Lite/2 userland changes.

The system boots and can mount UFS filesystems.

Untested: ext2fs, msdosfs, NFS
Known problems: Incorrect Berkeley ID strings in some files.
Mount_std mounts will not work until the getfsent
		library routine is changed.

e7fa2650cc `struct linker_set execsw_set' was declared as const and pointers in it
were declared as non-const. This is backwards (_lkm_exec() changes the
pointers but all the target `struct execsw's are const). Fixed this
and poisoned related declarations to match and removed the bogus casts
that hid the bug.

87f6c6625d Pass 3 of the great devsw changes
most devsw referenced functions are now static, as they are
in the same file as their devsw structure. I've also added DEVFS
support for nearly every device in the system, however
many of the devices have 'incorrect' names under DEVFS
because I couldn't quickly work out the correct naming conventions.
(but devfs won't be coming on line for a month or so anyhow so that doesn't
matter)

If you "OWN" a device which would normally have an entry in /dev
then search for the devfs_add_devsw() entries and munge to make them right..
check out similar devices to see what I might have done in them in you
can't see what's going on..
for a laugh compare conf.c conf.h defore and after... :)
I have not doen DEVFS entries for any DISKSLICE devices yet as that will be
a much more complicated job.. (pass 5 :)

pass 4 will be to make the devsw tables of type (cdevsw * )
rather than (cdevsw)
seems to work here..
complaints to the usual places.. :)

53ac6efbd8 OK, that's it..
That's EVERY SINGLE driver that has an entry in conf.c..
my next trick will be to define cdevsw[] and bdevsw[]
as empty arrays and remove all those DAMNED defines as well..

Each of these drivers has a SYSINIT linker set entry
that comes in very early.. and asks teh driver to add it's own
entry to the two devsw[] tables.

some slight reworking of the commits from yesterday (added the SYSINIT
stuff and some usually wrong but token DEVFS entries to all these
devices.

BTW does anyone know where the 'ata' entries in conf.c actually reside?
seems we don't actually have a 'ataopen() etc...

If you want to add a new device in conf.c
please make sure I know
so I can keep it up to date too..

as before, this is all dependent on #if defined(JREMOD)
(and #ifdef DEVFS in parts)

de2a1afc47 Undo the stupidity I inflicted on these files and replace it with
some (hopefully) less offensive stupidity:

If we detect that a user has loaded a module that fails to initialize
itself correctly, panic. There really isn't a safe way to recover from
something like this; we can't know that the module is bad until after
the entry point is called, by which time it's too late to do anything
about it.
