ef42570d65 Latest raft of changes. 
Added another couple of menu item types.

Reshuffled the menus and added a few more.  Sure wish I could figure out
how to initialize a menu with _one_ initializer rather than two! :(

4e278bdb76 Here is my first "framework" commit of the new sysinstall. There is a LOT 
more to come in the next 24 hours, this is just the first stable result of
8 hours of hacking so far.  The specification format for menus is pretty
much hammered out and the beginnings (very humble) of the doc hierarchy
are present for an example.  It should be quite easy to add a lot more
menus quickly to this since I did go somewhat out of my way to make the
framework easy to work with.  This is NOT the glorious semi-graphical
sysinstall (or whatever its name will be) that the install-geeks are working
on, this is simply the "son of sysinstall" I've been promising to write in
the interim for 2.0.5 and 2.1R (super install doesn't come until 2.2R).

518a1d34d6 A major cleanup. Move more over to a "pull" model than a "push" model, 
this will eventually allow us to add meaningfull dependencies.

Add mount_{msdos,nfs,cd9660} and chroot to the fixit.flp.

954f5fffa2 Put a kzip'ed GENERIC on the boot.flp and fixit.flp instead of BOOTFLP, 
now that we have the space.
If this works out to our liking, we will kill BOOTFLP.
Now, if only we could extract the kernel, incl symbols from a kzip'ed kernel...

7c474103d4 Thanks to the dynamic duo of John & David, ("meanwhile in the VM-cave"), we 
can use the vn-driver instead of physical floppies, thanks guys !
Add the fixit-floppy back now that kzip made it fit again.
Don't make the gzip'ed *.flp files anymore.

01feef2c19 Sanitize the making of kernels a bit, and make the BOOTCDROM kernel too. 
If we can get away with it, it will always just be the GENERIC kernel
with a different name.

e599dc2c51 Merge in some cosmetic changes - clean the two kernel images we depend 
on when a `make clean' is done - prevents a Feb 2nd BOOTFLP kernel going
onto a Feb 10th boot.flp, as now almost happened.. :-)

newfs'ing a floppy fails now, unless we tell it geometry.  I thought at
disktype would take precedence.

0ba70b00c0 Andreas Schulz asks: 
I have seen two strange things in it :-).
	The first: in CLEANFILES is CPIO3 referenced, that leads to the
	deletion of half of the scripts that are in the source. Intended ?
	Second: The comment above the CPIO3= line says that bininst must be
	the last on the floppy, but setup follows it now ?
And I reply:
	This was all wrong!  Fixed!  Thanks!

24c120144b Clean these up a bunch more - gee I'm glad I do these snapshots, they uncover 
*so many problems*.. Too bad the snaps themselves don't get made as a
consequence.. :-)

Bump the date forward Yet Another Day.  David has some changes he wants to
see rolled in, so I guess we're down for Feb 2nd as the snap date!

f5747177b2 Change the boot.flp rule to use the "vn" device. Much faster :-) 
remove bootsd and sdboot from the boot.flp, the matching change to

8f00e74801 Eliminate the use of cpio in extraction. The stupid thing whines too much, 
and it doesn't support --unlink.  I think it's time to nuke cpio completely
out of the installation process, unless someone can think of a really good
reason to keep it (and don't say multiple volume extraction since we a) don't
use it anywhere anyway, and b) tar supports that too, now).

f3ac09ee9a 1. Split these scripts into smaller distinct functional units that will 
be callable _after_ installation in 2.1's system admin tools.  This is
   almost totally revamped now.

2. Support installation from DOS partition or floppy.

3. Many stray bogons eliminated.  Perhaps a few introduced.  One more
   rev should fix this up, once I've spammed my test machine a couple of
   times.

4. Installation from CD now *really* possible.

5. Allow user to specify arbitary subdirectories for NFS mountpoints -
   UFS, NFS and CD distributions now share many common elements.

This attempts to make the installion a little less grating by not
clearing the screen every time a like-sized dialog is going to splat
on top of another one.  If you don't want the screen to clear, set
clear="", otherwise leave it set to (or set it back to) "--clear".

It can't be set to "" all the time since then small dialogs appearing
on top of big dialogs look funky.

in how ftp transfers were done, make sure all output goes to /dev/ttyv1

55c92c2040 Default boot floppies are 1.44MB again - I ran out of space. HOWEVER, 
there is an extra target now for creating a 1.2MB floppy at the cost
of a few of the doc files.  Just do a `make small.floppies' instead of
a `make floppies' to make a small set.

cfc507cc8b 1. The gzip'd docs aren't going to work - there's no scroll-back for 
process output dialogs (or any way to stop the output, for that matter!).
2. Install the very first cut of my bininst stage6 script.  VERY rough,
   it doesn't actually do anything just yet, but I need to make sure that
   it's at least executed for the moment.

95888a7194 1. Remove comments about broken procfs, it has been fixed. 
2.  Remove comments about exit status of 2 from mtree, that won't
    happen any more.

0202c140bb This is the very small start of moving all the make release related stuff 
from etc/Makefile to release/Makefile.  Right now this has one
target (hieriarchy:) that replaces distrib-dirs:.
