used. ${LIBFL} is set to a weird value in an attempt to inhibit
its use, but only breaks properly in some contexts.
Fixed the usual style bugs for DPADD and LDADD (disorder, and += for the
initial assignment).
o Create struct mpserver as part of struct mp.
mpserver creates a unix-domain socket based on the
peers auth name and endpoint discriminator. If it
already exists, ppp will ``pass the link'' over to
the owner of the socket, joining it into the bundle
of another ppp invocation, otherwise ppp waits for
other invocations to pass it links through this
socket.
The final piece of code will be the code that flattens
our datalink info and passes it down this channel
(not yet implemented).

** It's not yet possible to enter multilink mode :-( **

Explanation of the bug: when processing its first request, rarpd
opens a routing socket to send requests to the arp table. It keeps
that socket open afterwards, while waiting for new RARP requests.
Meanwhile, the data received on the routing socket fill up until
they are about 8Kbytes in size. Any additional data is lost.
When rarpd receives its next RARP request, it tries to access the
ARP table via a routing socket call, then waits for the answer to
its own request. This answer is lost because the received data is
already filled: when looking for the reply, rarpd receives only
8kbytes worth of data, then loops waiting forever.
Someone please test it on -STABLE and commit it. We can close the PR
when testing on STABLE is done.

SRCS was disordered to work around the bug for plain `make', and
the version number was bumped twice by building two copies of
version.[ch] concurrently.
Struct bundle will have its own struct ccp in the future
too.
o The ``set stopped'' command now requires context and doesn't
work on the IPCP FSM.
o Check if it's time to break out of our top level loop before
doing a select - otherwise, we'll select forever :-(
o Remove `struct link'::ccp (a temporary hack). It turns out
that IpStartOutput() calls link_Output() and link_Output()
incorrectly calls StartOutput() (really modem_StartOutput)
requiring the ccp knowledge so that it can call
IpStartOutput()... The end result is that the whole IP
output queue gets dumped into the modem output queue
and a pile of physical writes are done prematurely. This
makes the (original) code in main() actually work in that
it would not bother selecting() on the tun descriptor when
our modem queue length was 20 or greater. Instead, we now
make that decision based on the overall queue length.
This will need improvement later.

datalink_Up() can now be told to skip the dial/login/hangup
scripts and can be told whether to enter packet mode when

This is a type of physical link that can chat and talk
LCP & CCP. A bundle contains a list of these (only one
in the list for the moment).
The datalink is a type of descriptor, and dials, enters
LCP (& does CCP), kicks the bundle when its FSMs do
something interesting and does the hangup chat script
on the way down. It also handles redials and reconnects.
There are lots of loose ends, and probably lots of bugs,
but the data structures are getting there !
Allow for NULL fd_sets in descriptor_UpdateSet()
Reimplement the entire chat module, creating
`struct chat' - a `type' of struct descriptor.
Remove CARRIER logging.
CONNECT logging now only logs "CONNECT" lines. CHAT logging
masks it with an entire log of the conversation.
Modem dialing is now asynchronous, including pauses
and timeouts :-)
The hooks in DoLoop() in main.c are *very* messy ! I'll have
to rewrite DoLoop fairly soon, so I don't care too much for the
moment. This code is pretty raw.
/etc/services entries with any protocol instead of just udp and tcp.
Rather thani having the awk script explicitly search for 'udp' or 'tcp'
in the second field using index(), use split() to break up the field
at the '/' character if it exists, which extracts the protocol from
the field no matter what it is.

underlying database code works. When dealing with first/next queries, you
have the notion of a database 'cursor,' which is essentially a file pointer
for the database. To select the first entry, you do a fetch with the
R_FIRST flag set, then you can use the R_NEXT flag to enumerate the other
entries in the database. Unfortunately, doing a direct fetch with no flag
does _not_ set the 'cursor,' so you can't do a direct fetch and then
enumerate the table from there.
The bug is that cached handles generated as the result of a YPPROC_MATCH
were being treated as though they were the same as handles generated by
a YPPROC_FIRST, which is not the case. The manifestation is that if you
do a 'ypmatch first-key-in-map map' followed by a yp_first()/yp_next()
pair, the yp_first() and yp_next() both return the first key in the
table, which makes the entry appear to be duplicated.
A couple smaller things since I'm here:
- yp_main.c and yp_error.c both have a global 'int debug' in them.
For some reason, our cc/ld doesn't flag this as a multiply defined
symbol even though it should. Removed the declaration from yp_main.c;
we want the one in yp_error.c.
- The Makefile wasn't installing ypinit in the right place.
may result in a our modem closing after it's made its way into
the fd_set, resulting in a program exit (with select(): bad file
descriptor) rather than a dropped link.

of inodes, also restricting the number of devices that can be dealt with,

This removes a number of constraints on the number and type of devices
that sysinstall can see.

main loop.
