avoiding the Id-smashing problem which has plagued developers for so long.
Boy, I'm glad we're not using sup anymore. This update would have been
insane otherwise.
that old `ps'es did. I'm not too thrilled about this, but I'm not
enough of an FS person to hack procfs so that /proc/xxx/mem is readable
by members of group `kmem'. If this is done, then `ps' can go back to
being set-gid kmem.
