Properly check the return values from malloc(3).

Remove some PNP-related dead code that is unlikely to survive the

Get this to compile again. struct pnp_cinfo went away so
...
this is just a temporary hack until someone figures out
what they want to do with the override tables etc.
Example copied: sys/isa/{pnp,sio}.c
