Centralize the line discipline optimization determination in a function
...
called ttyldoptim().
Use this function from all the relevant drivers.
I belive no drivers finger linesw[] directly anymore, paving the way for
locking and refcounting.

The ttyld...() functions ar inline so there is no performance hit.

There is no need to explicitly call the stop function. In all likelyhood

->l_close() did it and ttyclose certainly will.
