o Add cautions about multiple adds of the device
...
o Remove setting the description of the device (that is more properly done in
probe).
o Remove setting the driver, as it is unnecessary
o Add pseudo code to ensure that the device isn't added to the tree already.
o remove some now unreferenced routines
