Fix a vulnerability in IPsec-IPv6-AH, that allows an attacker to remotely crash the kernel with a single packet. In this loop we need to increment 'ad' by two, because the length field of the option header does not count the size of the option header itself. If the length is zero, then 'count' is incremented by zero, and there's an infinite loop. Beyond that, this code was written with the assumption that since the IPv6 packet already went through the generic IPv6 option parser, several fields are guaranteed to be valid; but this assumption does not hold because of the missing '+2', and there's as a result a triggerable buffer overflow (write zeros after the end of the mbuf, potentially to the next mbuf in memory since it's a pool). The buildkernel and installkernel targets build and install
the kernel and the modules (see below). Please see the top of
the Makefile in this directory for more information on the
standard build targets and compile-time flags.
Building a kernel is a somewhat more involved process. See build(7), config(8), and https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/kernelconfig.html for more information.
Note: If you want to build and install the kernel with the
buildkernel and installkernel targets, you might need to build
world before. More information is available in the handbook.
The kernel configuration files reside in the sys/<arch>/conf
sub-directory. GENERIC is the default configuration used in release builds.
NOTES contains entries and documentation for all possible
devices, not just those commonly used.
