18218713bf enforce experimental tag at beginning of declarations
Putting a '__attribute__((deprecated))' in the middle of a function
prototype does not result in the expected result with gcc (while clang
is fine with this syntax).

$ cat deprecated.c
void * __attribute__((deprecated)) incorrect() { return 0; }
__attribute__((deprecated)) void *correct(void) { return 0; }
int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { incorrect(); correct(); return 0; }
$ gcc -o deprecated.o -c deprecated.c
deprecated.c: In function ‘main’:
deprecated.c:3:1: warning: ‘correct’ is deprecated (declared at
deprecated.c:2) [-Wdeprecated-declarations]
 int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { incorrect(); correct(); return 0; }
 ^

Move the tag on a separate line and make it the first thing of function
prototypes.
This is not perfect but we will trust reviewers to catch the other not
so easy to detect patterns.

sed -i \
     -e '/^\([^#].*\)\?__rte_experimental */{' \
     -e 's//\1/; s/ *$//; i\' \
     -e __rte_experimental \
     -e '/^$/d}' \
     $(git grep -l __rte_experimental -- '*.h')

Special mention for rte_mbuf_data_addr_default():

There is either a bug or a (not yet understood) issue with gcc.
gcc won't drop this inline when unused and rte_mbuf_data_addr_default()
calls rte_mbuf_buf_addr() which itself is experimental.
This results in a build warning when not accepting experimental apis
from sources just including rte_mbuf.h.

For this specific case, we hide the call to rte_mbuf_buf_addr() under
the ALLOW_EXPERIMENTAL_API flag.

This patch implements the changes proposed in the deprecation
notes [1][2].

librte_mbuf changes:
The mbuf->hash.sched field is updated to support generic
definition in line with the ethdev traffic manager and meter APIs.
The new generic format contains: queue ID, traffic class, color.

Added public APIs to set and get these new fields to and from mbuf.

librte_sched changes:
In addtion, following API functions of the sched library have
been modified with an additional parameter of type struct
rte_sched_port to accommodate the changes made to mbuf sched field.
(i)rte_sched_port_pkt_write()
(ii) rte_sched_port_pkt_read_tree_path()

librte_pipeline, qos_sched UT, qos_sched app are updated
to make use of new changes.

Also mbuf->hash.txadapter has been added for eventdev txq,
rte_event_eth_tx_adapter_txq_set and rte_event_eth_tx_adapter_txq_get()
are updated to use mbuf->hash.txadapter.txq.

doc:
Release notes updated.
Removed deprecation notice for mbuf->hash.sched and sched API.

f0e352ddb0 pipeline: add port in action APIs
This API provides a common set of actions for pipeline input ports to speed
up application development.

Each pipeline input port can be assigned an action handler to be executed
on every input packet during the pipeline execution.

The pipeline library allows the user to define his own input port actions
by providing customized input port action handler. While the user can
still follow this process, this API is intended to provide a quicker
development alternative for a set of predefined actions.

The typical steps to use this API are:
* Define an input port action profile.
* Instantiate the input port action profile to create input port action
  objects.
* Use the input port action to generate the input port action handler
  invoked by the pipeline.
* Use the input port action object to generate the internal data structures
  used by the input port action handler based on given action parameters.

654dd41112 pipeline: add table action APIs
This API provides a common set of actions for pipeline tables to speed up
application development.

Each match-action rule added to a pipeline table has associated data
that stores the action context. This data is input to the table
action handler called for every input packet that hits the rule as
part of the table lookup during the pipeline execution.

The pipeline library allows the user to define his own table
actions by providing customized table action handlers (table
lookup) and complete freedom of setting the rules and their data
(table rule add/delete). While the user can still follow this
process, this API is intended to provide a quicker development
alternative for a set of predefined actions.

The typical steps to use this API are:
* Define a table action profile.
* Instantiate the table action profile to create table action objects.
* Use the table action object to generate the pipeline table action
  handlers (invoked by the pipeline table lookup operation).
* Use the table action object to generate the rule data (for the
  pipeline table rule add operation) based on given action parameters.
* Use the table action object to read action data (e.g. stats counters)
  for any given rule.

cbc12b0a96 mk: do not generate LDLIBS from directory dependencies
The list of libraries in LDLIBS was generated from the DEPDIRS-xyz
variable. This is valid when the subdirectory name match the library
name, but it's not always the case, especially for PMDs.

The patches removes this feature and explicitly adds the proper
libraries in LDLIBS.

Some DEPDIRS-xyz variables become useless, remove them.

feb9f680cd mk: optimize directory dependencies
Before this patch, the management of dependencies between directories
had several issues:

- the generation of .depdirs, done at configuration is slow: it can take
  more than one minute on some slow targets (usually ~10s on a standard
  PC without -j).

- for instance, it is possible to express a dependency like:
  - app/foo depends on lib/librte_foo
  - and lib/librte_foo depends on app/bar
  But this won't work because the directories are traversed with a
  depth-first algorithm, so we have to choose between doing 'app' before
  or after 'lib'.

- the script depdirs-rule.sh is too complex.

- we cannot use "make -d" for debug, because the output of make is used for
  the generation of .depdirs.

This patch moves the DEPDIRS-* variables in the upper Makefile, making
the dependencies much easier to calculate. A DEPDIRS variable is still
used to process library dependencies in LDLIBS.

After this commit, "make config" is almost immediate.

marked to avoid warnings and compilation failures.

Unnamed structs/unions are allowed since C11, however many compiler
versions do not use this mode by default.

This commit prevents the following errors:

 error: ISO C99 doesn't support unnamed structs/unions
 error: struct has no named members

347a1e037f lib: use C99 syntax for zero-size arrays
Exported header files used by applications should allow the strictest
compiler flags. Language extensions used in many places must be explicitly
marked or removed to avoid warnings and compilation failures.

The extension keyword is used whenever the C99 syntax cannot do it.

This commit prevents the following errors:

 error: ISO C forbids zero-size array `[...]'

fef3066c40 pipeline: fix truncated dependency list
In other libraries, dependency list is always appended to, but
in commit 6cbf4f75e0 it with an assignment. This causes the
librte_eal dependency added in commit 6cbf4f75e0 to get discarded,
resulting in missing dependency on librte_eal.

4c387fcdf7 pipeline: add new functions for action handlers
Two new pipeline API functions have been added to the library. The packet
hijack API function can be called by any input/output port or table action
handler to remove selected packets from the burst of packets read from one
of the pipeline input ports and then either send these packets out through
any pipeline output port or drop them.

Another packet drop API function can be used by the pipeline action
handlers (port in/out, table) to drop the packets selected using packet
mask. This function updates the drop statistics counters correctly.

88ac2fd99f pipeline: support packet redirection at action handlers
Currently, there is no mechanism that allows the pipeline ports (in/out)
and table action handlers to override the default forwarding decision
(as previously configured per input port or in the table entry). The port
(in/out) and table action handler prototypes have been changed to allow
pipeline action handlers (port in/out, table) to remove the selected
packets from the further pipeline processing and to take full ownership
for these packets. This feature will be helpful to implement functions
such as exception handling (e.g. TTL =0), load balancing etc.

4b15247150 doc: drop old naming of the project
It was requested by Intel, more than one year ago, to replace the name
"Intel DPDK" by "DPDK".
Some references to the old name were still in some docs and code comments,
leading to confusion.
