Treat any attention which is not for timeout event as invalid
and return status accordingly. The HW error handler logs and clears
the HW attention. Without this fix we can see flood of GRC attentions.

Firmware can restrict access to certain resources in the hardware
depending on various factors. In such cases when the PMD tries to
configure these resources the firmware will return
HWRM_ERR_CODE_RESOURCE_ACCESS_DENIED error. Parse this and return
the standard EACCES error to the applications.

In bnxt_hwrm_flash_nvram, before attempting to allocate a buffer
we are grabbing the rte_spinlock. And if the allocation fails we
are returning before releasing the spinlock. We avoid the situation
by calling HWRM_PREP which grabs the lock after the buffer is
allocated successfully.

In some cases we may not be freeing up memory allocated for certain
NVM commands because the code might have bailed out before reaching
rte_free(). This patch moves some code around to ensure the allocated
memory is freed before exiting the function.

This reverts the patch that enabled mbuf fast free.
There are two main reasons.
First, enic_fast_free_wq_bufs is broken. When
DEV_TX_OFFLOAD_MBUF_FAST_FREE is enabled, the driver calls this
function to free transmitted mbufs. This function currently does not
reset next and nb_segs. This is simply wrong as the fast-free flag
does not imply anything about next and nb_segs.
We could fix enic_fast_free_wq_bufs by making it to call
rte_pktmbuf_prefree_seg to reset the required fields. But, it negates
most of cycle saving.
Second, there are customer applications that blindly enable all Tx
offloads supported by the device. Some of these applications do not
satisfy the requirements of mbuf fast free (i.e. a single pool per
queue and refcnt = 1), and end up crashing or behaving badly.

On dev_stop the Rx/Tx_burst functions are being set to NULL, this causes
a SEGFAULT in cases where control path calls stop and a paket is still
being processed by a worker.
Instead clear the fastpath functions in dev_close.

The patch is incomplete because kernel 4.16+, while being capable
of mapping MSI-X BARs, will also report if such a capability is
available. Without checking this capability, gratuitous errors
are displayed on kernels <4.16 while VFIO is attempting to mmap
MSI-X BAR and fails, which can be confusing to the user.

Network interface indices being unsigned, an invalid index or error is
normally expressed through a zero value (see if_nametoindex()).
mlx5_ifindex() has a signed return type for negative values in case of
error. Since mlx5_nl.c does not check for errors, these may be fed back as
invalid interfaces indices to subsequent system calls. This usage would
have been correct if mlx5_ifindex() returned a zero value instead.
This patch makes mlx5_ifindex() unsigned for convenience.

Route Netlink message socket is wrongly initialized by registering to
the route link group. This causes the socket to receive all link
message related to routes whereas the PMD do not expect to receive such
information. In some situation it ends by filling the socket at a point
that any new message cannot be exchanged.
As the PMD is not expected to process such broadcast messages, the
parameter in the nl_group in the function is also remove.

There should be at least one Tx CQE remained if Tx WQ and txq->elts[] have
available slots to send a packet because the size of Tx CQ is exactly
calculated from the size of other resources. As it is guaranteed, it is
checked by an assertion.
max_elts is checked after the assertion for Tx CQ. If no slot is available
in txq->elts[], the assertion would be wrong.

ID associated with the device (PORT_ID pattern item), mainly for the
convenience of applications that want to deal with a single port ID for all
flow rules associated with some physical device.

This patch enables creation of rte_flow rules that direct matching traffic
to a different port (e.g. another VF representor) or drop it directly at
the switch level (PORT_ID and DROP actions).
Testpmd examples:
- Directing all traffic to port ID 0:
flow create 1 ingress transfer pattern end actions port_id id 0 / end
- Dropping all traffic normally received by port ID 1:
flow create 1 ingress transfer pattern end actions drop / end
Note the presence of the transfer attribute, which requests them to be
applied at the switch level. All traffic is matched due to empty pattern.

Because mlx5 switch flow rules are configured through Netlink (TC
interface) and have little in common with Verbs, this patch adds a separate
parser function to handle them.
- mlx5_nl_flow_transpose() converts a rte_flow rule to its TC equivalent
and stores the result in a buffer.
- mlx5_nl_flow_brand() gives a unique handle to a flow rule buffer.
- mlx5_nl_flow_create() instantiates a flow rule on the device based on
such a buffer.
- mlx5_nl_flow_destroy() performs the reverse operation.
These functions are called by the existing implementation when encountering
flow rules which must be offloaded to the switch (currently relying on the
transfer attribute).

With mlx5, unlike normal flow rules implemented through Verbs for traffic
emitted and received by the application, those targeting different logical
ports of the device (VF representors for instance) are offloaded at the
switch level and must be configured through Netlink (TC interface).
This patch adds preliminary support to manage such flow rules through the
flow API (rte_flow).
Instead of rewriting tons of Netlink helpers and as previously suggested by
Stephen [1], this patch introduces a new dependency to libmnl [2]
(LGPL-2.1) when compiling mlx5.

In i40e FDIR PMD code for checking programming status
function i40e_check_fdir_programming_status(), the initial value
of return value ret should be set to -1 not 0, because if DD bit of
I40E_RX_DESC_STATUS_DD is not write back, this function will return
0 to upper function, this give an error info to upper function, the
fact for this is it is time out for DD write back and it should return
-1.

When link needs to go up, I40E_AQ_PHY_AN_ENABLED is always be set in DPDK.
So all speeds are always set. This causes speed config never works.
This patch fixes this issue and only allows to set available speeds. If
link needs to go up and speed setting is not supported, it will print
warning and set default available speeds. And when link needs to go down,
link speed field should be set to non-zero to avoid link down issue when
binding back to kernel driver.

Currently, i40e_dev_tx_queue_setup_runtime checks simple tx and treats
mbuf fast free offloading as No-simple, which is classified as simple tx
in i40e_set_tx_function_flag. This inconsistent behavior causes tx queue
setup fail after queue was stopped. This patch fixes this bug.

TPID can be set by set_switch_config AdminQ command on
new FW release. But find fail to set 0x88A8 on some NICs.
According to the datasheet, Switch Tag value should not
be identical to either the First Tag or Second Tag values.
So set something other than common Ethertype for internal
switching.

To parse packet type correctly, profile needs to be
loaded again to update tables in SW even if profile
has exited. But previously packet type parser will
be false after loading profile when profile already
exists.
This patch fixes the issue.

Currently, VFIO will try to map around MSI-X table in the BARs. When
MSI-X table (page-aligned) size is equal to (page-aligned) size of BAR,
VFIO will just skip the BAR.
Recent kernel versions will allow VFIO to map the entire BAR containing
MSI-X tables (*), so instead of trying to map around the MSI-X vector
or skipping the BAR entirely if it's not possible, we can now try
mapping the entire BAR first. If mapping the entire BAR doesn't
succeed, fall back to the old behavior of mapping around MSI-X table or
skipping the BAR.

When building a driver or library and a required internal dependency
is missing, the error message printed was:
Tried to get unknown variable "shared_rte_<libname>".
However, a better way to handle this is to catch the missing variable
earlier and convert it into a proper message, informing the user
that the required dependency is missing, and most importantly, what
library or driver wanted that dependency.

A number of drivers have dependencies on libraries which
are only built on Linux, and so they need to be disabled
on FreeBSD. Rather than basing the disabling on OS, in
each case we base the building of the library on the
presence of the required dependency.

Octentx zipvf PMD provides hardware acceleration for
deflate and lzs compression and decompression operations
using Octeontx zip co-processor, which provide 8
virtualized zip devices.
This patch add basic initialization routine to register zip VFs
to compressdev library.

Previous check only causes op to fail on dequeue.
This extends so once first fail is detected, application can
no longer enqueue ops to the device and will also get an
appropriate error if trying to reconfigure or setup the device.

Subroutine to unmap VFIO resource is shared by secondary and
primary, and it does not work on the secondary process. Since
for secondary process, it is not necessary to close interrupt
handler, set pci bus mastering and remove vfio_res from
vfio_res_list. So, the patch adds a dedicate function to handle
the situation when a device is unmapped on a secondary process.

When use memcmp to compare two PCI address, sizeof(struct rte_pci_addr)
is 4 bytes aligned, and it is 8. While only 7 byte of struct rte_pci_addr
is valid. So compare the 8th byte will cause the unexpected result, which
happens when repeatedly attach/detach a device.

The driver supports Hyper-V networking directly like
virtio for KVM or vmxnet3 for VMware.
This code is based off of the FreeBSD driver. The file and variable
names are kept the same to help with understanding (with most of the
BSD style warts removed).
This version supports the latest NetVSP 6.1 version and
older versions.

This patch adds support for an additional bus type Virtual Machine BUS
(VMBUS) on Microsoft Hyper-V in Windows 10, Windows Server 2016
and Azure. Most of this code was extracted from FreeBSD and some of
this is from earlier code donated by Brocade.
Only Linux is supported at present, but the code is split
to allow future FreeBSD and Windows support.
The bus support relies on the uio_hv_generic driver from Linux
kernel 4.16. Multiple queue support requires additional sysfs
interfaces which is in kernel 5.0 (a.k.a 4.17).

This patch adds support for building and running mlx5 PMD on
32bit systems such as i686.
The main issue to tackle was handling the 32bit access to the UAR
as quoted from the mlx5 PRM:
QP and CQ DoorBells require 64-bit writes. For best performance, it
is recommended to execute the QP/CQ DoorBell as a single 64-bit write
operation. For platforms that do not support 64 bit writes, it is
possible to issue the 64 bits DoorBells through two consecutive
writes,
each write 32 bits, as described below:
* The order of writing each of the Dwords is from lower to upper
addresses.
* No other DoorBell can be rung (or even start ringing) in the midst
of an on-going write of a DoorBell over a given UAR page.
The last rule implies that in a multi-threaded environment, the access
to a UAR page (which can be accessible by all threads in the process)
must be synchronized (for example, using a semaphore) unless an atomic
write of 64 bits in a single bus operation is guaranteed. Such a
synchronization is not required for when ringing DoorBells on different
UAR pages.

The flow counter support introduced by
commit 9a761de8ea ("net/mlx5: flow counter support") was intend to
work only with MLNX_OFED_4.3 as the upstream rdma-core
libraries were lack such support.
On rdma-core v19 the support for the flow counters was added but with
different user APIs, hence causing compilation issues on the PMD.
This patch fix the compilation errors by forcing the flow counters
to be enabled only with MLNX_OFED APIs.
Once MLNX_OFED and rdma-core APIs will be aligned, a proper patch to
support the new API will be submitted.

RSS level is necessary to had a bit in the hash_fields which is already
provided in this API, for the tunnel, it is necessary to request such
queue to compute the checksum on the inner most, this last one should

Drop queues are essentially used in flows due to Verbs API, the
information if the fate of the flow is a drop or not is already present
in the flow. Due to this, drop queues can be fully mapped on regular
queues.

This start a series to re-work the flow engine in mlx5 to easily support
flow conversion to Verbs or TC. This is necessary to handle both regular
flows and representors flows.
As the full file needs to be clean-up to re-write all items/actions
processing, this patch starts to disable the regular code and only let the
PMD to start in isolated mode.
After this patch flow API will not be usable.

Prior to this patch, all port representors detected on a given device were
probed and Ethernet devices instantiated for each of them.
This patch adds support for the standard "representor" parameter, which
implies that port representors are not probed by default anymore, except
for the list provided through device arguments.

Port representors are probed in whatever unspecified order
ibv_get_device_list() returns them.
This is counterintuitive to users since DPDK port IDs assignment almost
never follows the same sequence as representor IDs. Additionally, the
master device does not necessarily inherit the lowest DPDK port ID.
