90197eb094 cryptodev: add digest encrypted feature flag
Some PMDs can only support digest being
encrypted separately in auth-cipher operations.
Thus it is required to add feature flag in PMD
to reflect if it does support digest-appended
both: digest generation with encryption and
decryption with digest verification.
This patch also adds information about new
feature flag to the release notes.

b482a57863 cryptodev: free memzone when releasing device
When a cryptodev is created in a primary process,
rte_cryptodev_data_alloc reserves a memzone.
However, this memzone was not released when the cryptodev
is uninitialized. After that, new cryptodev cannot be
created due to memzone name conflict.

This commit frees the memzone when a cryptodev is
uninitialized, fixing this bug. This approach is chosen
instead of keeping and reusing the old memzone, because
the new cryptodev could belong to a different NUMA socket.

Also, rte_cryptodev_data pointer is now properly recorded
in cryptodev_globals.data array.

18218713bf enforce experimental tag at beginning of declarations
Putting a '__attribute__((deprecated))' in the middle of a function
prototype does not result in the expected result with gcc (while clang
is fine with this syntax).

$ cat deprecated.c
void * __attribute__((deprecated)) incorrect() { return 0; }
__attribute__((deprecated)) void *correct(void) { return 0; }
int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { incorrect(); correct(); return 0; }
$ gcc -o deprecated.o -c deprecated.c
deprecated.c: In function ‘main’:
deprecated.c:3:1: warning: ‘correct’ is deprecated (declared at
deprecated.c:2) [-Wdeprecated-declarations]
 int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { incorrect(); correct(); return 0; }
 ^

Move the tag on a separate line and make it the first thing of function
prototypes.
This is not perfect but we will trust reviewers to catch the other not
so easy to detect patterns.

sed -i \
     -e '/^\([^#].*\)\?__rte_experimental */{' \
     -e 's//\1/; s/ *$//; i\' \
     -e __rte_experimental \
     -e '/^$/d}' \
     $(git grep -l __rte_experimental -- '*.h')

Special mention for rte_mbuf_data_addr_default():

There is either a bug or a (not yet understood) issue with gcc.
gcc won't drop this inline when unused and rte_mbuf_data_addr_default()
calls rte_mbuf_buf_addr() which itself is experimental.
This results in a build warning when not accepting experimental apis
from sources just including rte_mbuf.h.

For this specific case, we hide the call to rte_mbuf_buf_addr() under
the ALLOW_EXPERIMENTAL_API flag.

2382aa8c8f cryptodev: fix driver name comparison
The string compare to the length of driver name might give false
positives when there are drivers with similar names (one being the
subset of another).

Following is such a naming which could result in false positive.
1. crypto_driver
2. crypto_driver1

When strncmp with len = strlen("crypto_driver") is done, it could give
a false positive when compared against "crypto_driver1". For such cases,
'strlen + 1' is done, so that the NULL termination also would be
considered for the comparison.

27e71c7fdc cryptodev: restore crypto op alignment and layout
in 18.08 new cache-aligned structure rte_crypto_asym_op was introduced.
As it also was included into rte_crypto_op, it caused implicit change
in rte_crypto_op layout and alignment: now rte_crypto_op is cache-line
aligned has a hole of 40/104 bytes between phys_addr and sym/asym op.
It looks like unintended ABI breakage, plus such change can cause
negative performance effects:
- now status and sym[0].m_src lies on different cache-lines, so
  post-process code would need extra cache-line read.
- new alignment causes grow of the space requirements and cache-line
  reads/updates for structures that contain rte_crypto_op inside.
As there seems no actual need to have rte_crypto_asym_op cache-line
aligned, and rte_crypto_asym_op is not intended to be used on it's own -
the simplest fix is just to remove cache-line alignment for it.
As the immediate positive effect: on IA ipsec-secgw performance increased
by 5-10% (depending on the crypto-dev and algo used).
My guess that on machines with 128B cache-line and lookaside-protocol
capable crypto devices the impact will be even more noticeable.

db10602b76 cryptodev: add min headroom and tailroom requirement
Enabling crypto devs to specify the minimum headroom and tailroom it
expects in the mbuf. For net PMDs, standard headroom has to be honoured
by applications, which is not strictly followed for crypto devs. This
prevents crypto devs from using free space in mbuf (available as
head/tailroom) for internal requirements in crypto operations. Addition
of head/tailroom requirement will help PMDs to communicate such
requirements to the application.

The availability and use of head/tailroom is an optimization if the
hardware supports use of head/tailroom for crypto-op info. For devices
that do not support using the head/tailroom, they can continue to operate
without any performance-drop.

2d349f6034 cryptodev: rename experimental private data APIs
The name private_data is confusing in these APIs:
rte_cryptodev_sym_session_set_private_data()
rte_cryptodev_sym_session_get_private_data()
It refers to data added at the end of the session hdr for
use by the application.
The session already contains sess_private_data[index]
which is used to store private pmd data and most references to private
data refer to that.
e.g. external apis
rte_cryptodev_sym_get_private_session_size() and internal
set/get_session_private_data() refer to sess_private_data[].

So rename to user_data, i.e.

the symmetric functions, meaning that the device does not
support symmetric operations.

012c5076d4 cryptodev: rename PMD symmetric session API
The PMD specific API to configure, clear and
obtain session private size is renamed, including
the word _sym_ to clarify that it is API
for symmetric sessions, so there will not be any
conflicts for asymmetric and other type of sessions
in the future.

9843546b8e cryptodev: remove attach/detach session API
As announced in the previous release,
The API to attach/dettach a session to a queue pair
is removed, as it was only used in DPAA, and it is not
actually needed.

2717246ecd cryptodev: replace mbuf scatter gather flag
The current mbuf scatter gatter feature flag is
too ambiguous, as it is not clear if input and/or output
buffers can be scatter gather mbufs or not, plus
if in-place and/or out-of-place is supported.

Therefore, five new flags will replace this flag:
- RTE_CRYPTODEV_FF_IN_PLACE_SGL
- RTE_CRYPTODEV_FF_OOP_SGL_IN_SGL_OUT
- RTE_CRYPTODEV_FF_OOP_SGL_IN_LB_OUT
- RTE_CRYPTODEV_FF_OOP_LB_IN_SGL_OUT
- RTE_CRYPTODEV_FF_OOP_LB_IN_LB_OUT

94dacafc8c cryptodev: remove old get session size functions
Removed rte_cryptodev_get_header_session_size
and rte_cryptodev_get_private_session_size functions,
as they have been substituted with functions
specific for symmetric operations, with _sym_ word
after "rte_cryptodev_".

e1fc5b7690 cryptodev: remove max number of sessions parameter
Most crypto PMDs do not have a limitation
of the number of the sessions that can be handled
internally. The value that was set before was not
actually used at all, since the sessions are created
at the application level.
Therefore, this value is not parsed from the initial
crypto parameters anymore and it is set to 0,
meaning that there is no actual limit.

2925e0c190 cryptodev: define value for unlimited sessions
Currently, the info structure contains the maximum number
of sessions that a device can manage.
This field was useful when the session mempool was created inside
each device, but now it is created at the application level.

Most PMDs do not have a limitation on the sessions managed,
but a few do, therefore this field must remain in the structure.
However, a new value, 0, can be used to indicate that
a device does not have an actual maximum of sessions.
