A device iterator allows iterating over a set of devices.
This set is defined by the two descriptions offered,
* rte_bus
* rte_class
Only one description can be provided, or both. It is not allowed to
provide no description at all.
Each layer of abstraction then performs a filter based on the
description provided. This filtering allows iterating on their internal
set of devices, stopping when a match is valid and returning the current
iteration context.
This context allows starting the next iteration from the same point and
going forward.

This patch aims to add a general device event monitor framework at
EAL device layer, for device hotplug awareness and actions adopted
accordingly. It could also expand for all other types of device event
monitor, but not in this scope at the stage.
To get started, users firstly call below new added APIs to enable/disable
the device event monitor mechanism:
- rte_dev_event_monitor_start
- rte_dev_event_monitor_stop
Then users shell register or unregister callbacks through the new added
APIs. Callbacks can be some device specific, or for all devices.
-rte_dev_event_callback_register
-rte_dev_event_callback_unregister
Use hotplug case for example, when device hotplug insertion or hotplug
removal, we will get notified from kernel, then call user's callbacks
accordingly to handle it, such as detach or attach the device from the
bus, and could benefit further fail-safe or live-migration.

Many exported headers rely on definitions found in rte_config.h without
including it, as shown by the following command:
grep -L '^#include <rte_config.h>' -- \
$(grep -Rl \
$(sed -n '/^#define \([^ ]\+\).*$/{s//\1/;H;};${x;s/\n//;s/\n/\\|/g;p;}' \
build/include/rte_config.h) \
-- build/include/)
We cannot assume external applications will include rte_config.h on their
own, neither directly nor through a -include parameter like DPDK does
internally.
This not only causes obvious compilation failures that can be reproduced
with check-includes.sh such as:
[...]/rte_memory.h:88:43: error: ‘RTE_CACHE_LINE_SIZE’ was not declared in
this scope
#define __rte_cache_aligned __rte_aligned(RTE_CACHE_LINE_SIZE)
^
It also results in less visible issues, for instance rte_hash_crc.h relying
on RTE_ARCH_X86_64's presence to provide dedicated inline functions.
This patch partially reverts the commit below and adds missing include
lines to the remaining files.

Revert "devargs: make device types generic"
This commit broke the rte_devargs API by changing the meaning of
the rte_devtype enum.
Restore the previous API, unit tests and function calls.
Introduce parallel enum that acts as translation between previous API
and current structures.
Restoring the previous API means that -w and -b are not usable anymore
with any bus having implemented the "parse" operation. Only PCI devices
can be used with -w and -b, virtual devices are declared using vdev.

Modify the PMD_REGISTER_DRIVER macro, adding a name argument to it. The
addition of a name argument creates a token that can be used for subsequent
macros in the creation of unique symbol names to export additional bits of
information for use by the pmdinfogen tool. For example:
PMD_REGISTER_DRIVER(ena_driver, ena);
registers the ena_driver struct as it always did, and creates a symbol
const char this_pmd_name0[] __attribute__((used)) = "ena";
which pmdinfogen can search for and extract. The subsequent macro
DRIVER_REGISTER_PCI_TABLE(ena, ena_pci_id_map);
creates a symbol const char ena_pci_tbl_export[] __attribute__((used)) =
"ena_pci_id_map";
Which allows pmdinfogen to find the pci table of this driver
Using this pattern, we can export arbitrary bits of information.
pmdinfo uses this information to extract hardware support from an object
file and create a json string to make hardware support info discoverable
later.
