57a484e08a kni: fix crash caused by freeing mempool
To clean alloc_q, which has physical addresses of the mbufs, kni lib
free the pkt_mempool, but this leads a crash in kni unit test.

KNI library shouldn't free the pkt_mempool.

Implementation updated to find the mbufs in the alloc_q and return them
back to mempool.

8eba5ebd18 kni: fix possible memory leak
alloc_q and rx_q fifos holds physical address of the mbufs, and not able
to free those mbufs explicitly.

But kernel thread reads from rx_q and puts used mbufs into free_q (with
their virtual addresses.) And kernel thread stopped when application
close the /dev/kni file on exit. So rx_q has time to be consumed by
kernel thread but leak is technically possible.

Another fifo, alloc_q has physical addresses too, but all those coming
from same mempool provided by application, when application quit, all
mempool already returned back, so this leak can be ignored.

Added check and wait logic for rx_q to be sure kernel consumed the fifo,
an error message printed after some ammount of wait, and an explicit
mempool free added for alloc_q.

feb9f680cd mk: optimize directory dependencies
Before this patch, the management of dependencies between directories
had several issues:

- the generation of .depdirs, done at configuration is slow: it can take
more than one minute on some slow targets (usually ~10s on a standard
  PC without -j).

- for instance, it is possible to express a dependency like:
  - app/foo depends on lib/librte_foo
  - and lib/librte_foo depends on app/bar
But this won't work because the directories are traversed with a
depth-first algorithm, so we have to choose between doing 'app' before
  or after 'lib'.

- the script depdirs-rule.sh is too complex.

- we cannot use "make -d" for debug, because the output of make is used for
  the generation of .depdirs.

This patch moves the DEPDIRS-* variables in the upper Makefile, making
the dependencies much easier to calculate. A DEPDIRS variable is still
used to process library dependencies in LDLIBS.

After this commit, "make config" is almost immediate.

8451269e6d kni: remove continuous memory restriction
Use mempool buf_addr and buf_physaddr fields for address translation.

Since each mbuf address calculated separately, the restriction of all
mbufs should come from a continuous memory restriction is no more valid.

mbuf related FIFO's content changed, rx_q and alloc_q now carries
physical address of mbufs. tx_q and free_q content not changed, they
still carries virtual address of mbufs.

8d4b8c87f2 lib: work around nonstandard bit-fields
Exported header files used by applications should allow the strictest
compiler flags. Language extensions used in many places must be explicitly
marked or removed to avoid warnings and compilation failures.

This commit prevents the following errors:

error: type of bit-field `[...]' is a GCC extension

Note: the standard does not require implementations to issue a diagnostic
message with these, and such errors do not occur with recent GCC or clang
versions. However, GCC 4.7 is still common and using the extension keyword
is easier than checking compiler version.

4608601000 kni: describe mempool capacity requirement
Function like 'rte_kni_rx_burst()' keeps
allocating 'MAX_MBUF_BURST_NUM' mbufs to
kni fifo queue unless the queue's capacity
('KNI_FIFO_COUNT_MAX') is reached. So, if
the mempool is under-provisioned, user may
run into "Out of Memory" logs from KNI code.
This commit documents the need to provision
mempool capacity of more than
"2 x KNI_FIFO_COUNT_MAX" for each KNI interface.

d1d914ebbc mempool: allocate in several memory chunks by default
Introduce rte_mempool_populate_default() which allocates
mempool objects in several memzones.

The mempool header is now always allocated in a specific memzone
(not with its objects). Thanks to this modification, we can remove
many specific behavior that was required when hugepages are not
enabled in case we are using rte_mempool_xmem_create().

This change requires to update how kni and mellanox drivers lookup for
mbuf memory. For now, this will only work if there is only one memory
chunk (like today), but we could make use of rte_mempool_mem_iter() to
support more memory chunks.

We can also remove RTE_MEMPOOL_OBJ_NAME that is not required anymore for
the lookup, as memory chunks are referenced by the mempool.

Note that rte_mempool_create() is still broken (it was the case before)
when there is no hugepages support (rte_mempool_create_xmem() has to be
used). This is fixed in next commit.

6234585fee kni: remove inclusion of mbuf header
The kni header file includes the mbuf header file, but it does not
need to do so as it only uses pointers to the struct rte_mbuf type, and

3e12a98fe3 kni: optimize Rx burst
The current implementation of rte_kni_rx_burst polls the fifo for buffers.
Irrespective of success or failure, it allocates the mbuf and try to put them into the alloc_q
if the buffers are not added to alloc_q, it frees them.
This waste lots of cpu cycles in allocating and freeing the buffers if alloc_q is full.

The logic has been changed to:
1. Initially allocand add buffer(burstsize) to alloc_q
2. Add buffers to alloc_q only when you are pulling out the buffers.

0c6bc8ef70 kni: memzone pool for alloc and release
The previous implementation of rte_kni_alloc() was allocating memzones with a
name composed of a fixed string and the interface name. When an application was
allocating and deallocating multiple interfaces with different names, memzones
were quickly exhausted, even though memzones from deallocated interfaces were
never used anymore (unless an interface with the same name was re-allocated).
As a result, the application was unable to allocate more KNI interfaces with
different names.

This patch implements the KNI memzone pool in order to prevent memzone
exhaustion when allocating/deallocating KNI interfaces. It adds a new API call,
rte_kni_init(max_kni_ifaces) that shall be called before any call to
rte_kni_alloc() if KNI is used. The memzones are pre-allocated with interface-
independent names so that they can be reused.
