9efa8d28b4 net/i40e: fix SFP X722 with FW4.16
When NVM API version is 1.7 or above adminq operation to set TPID is
set as supported. This cause using adminq instead of registers.

For SFP X722 FW4.16, reported NVM API version is 1.8, and this cause
adminq operation to set as supported but it is not supported on FW4.16

Additional check added for SFP X722 to not enable adminq operation.

6bee9d5f45 drivers/net: use ack in interrupt handlers
Replace rte_intr_enable() with rte_intr_ack() API
for acking an interrupt in interrupt handlers and
rx_queue_intr_enable() callbacks of PMD's.

This is inline with original intent of this change in PMDs
to ack interrupts after handling is completed if
device is backed by UIO, IGB_UIO or VFIO(with INTx).

b76fafb174 eal: fix IOVA mode selection as VA for PCI drivers
The incriminated commit broke the use of RTE_PCI_DRV_IOVA_AS_VA which
was intended to mean "driver only supports VA" but had been understood
as "driver supports both PA and VA" by most net drivers and used to let
dpdk processes to run as non root (which do not have access to physical
addresses on recent kernels).

The check on physical addresses actually closed the gap for those
drivers. We don't need to mark them with RTE_PCI_DRV_IOVA_AS_VA and this
flag can retain its intended meaning.
Document explicitly its meaning.

We can check that a driver requirement wrt to IOVA mode is fulfilled
before trying to probe a device.

Finally, document the heuristic used to select the IOVA mode and hope
that we won't break it again.

343b8e4ada net/i40e: fix crash when TxQ/RxQ set to 0 in VF

When txq or rxq is set to 0, pointer of pointer rxq or txq in

b51690ec69 mbuf: clarify outer offsets for non-tunnel packets
The default policy for offload-specific fields is that
they are undefined unless the corresponding offloads are
requested in mbuf ol_flags. This is also the case for outer
L2 and L3 length fields which must not be assumed to contain
zeros for non-tunnel packets. The patch clarifies this behaviour
in the comments and also adds appropriate checks to the PMDs which
do not check any tunnel-related offloads before using the said fields.

fe1d9ecb30 net/i40e: remove empty queue stats mapping set devops

0bbcfc706a net/i40e: support MARK and RSS flow action
Currently, i40e Flow Director action parser only allows following nine
action combinations: (QUEUE, PASSTHRU, DROP, QUEUE + MARK, PASSTHRU +

Using the existing Cloud Filter profile on the NIC, it is possible to
add support for two more combinations as: (MARK + RSS, MARK + FLAG +

b7ed955a20 ethdev: deprecate legacy filter API
As stated in the deprecation notice from December 2016,
"the legacy filter API, including rte_eth_dev_filter_supported(),
rte_eth_dev_filter_ctrl() as well as filter types MACVLAN, ETHERTYPE,
FLEXIBLE, SYN, NTUPLE, TUNNEL, FDIR, HASH and L2_TUNNEL, is superseded
by the generic flow API (rte_flow)".

After a long wait of more than two years, the legacy filter API
is marked as deprecated, while still tested with testpmd and
the tep_termination example.

The next step will be to announce a deadline for complete removal.
As preparation of the removal of rte_eth_ctrl.h,
RTE_ETH_FLOW_*, RTE_TUNNEL_TYPE_* and RTE_ETH_HASH_FUNCTION_* definitions
are moved to rte_ethdev.h and rte_flow.h.

When launch testpmd with VF and quit testpmd, there'll
be lots of messages "i40evf_handle_aq_msg(): Request 0

6723c0fc72 replace snprintf with strlcpy
Do a global replace of snprintf(..."%s",...) with strlcpy, adding in the
rte_string_fns.h header if needed. The function changes in this patch were
auto-generated via command:

  spatch --sp-file devtools/cocci/strlcpy.cocci --dir . --in-place

and then the files edited using awk to add in the missing header:

  gawk -i inplace '/include <rte_/ && ! seen { \
  	print "#include <rte_string_fns.h>"; seen=1} {print}'

b89f6deb86 net/i40e: update queue number check for rounding
Since rounding up the requested queue pairs to allow the VF to
request a non-aligned number was added, it may happen that the
requested number is less than the available num of queues but the
rounded up number is greater. In this case, it is not caught with
the usual checks but later when there is a reset and failed setup.

By rounding earlier the checks can be done before a failed reset
occurs, and a rounded max amount of available queues can be returned
to the VF.
