9e9cf349fa app/eventdev: remove unnecessary barriers in perf test
For "processed_pkts" and "total_latency" functions, no operations should
keep the order that being executed before loading
"worker[i].processed_pkts". Thus rmb is unnecessary before loading.

For "perf_launch_lcores" function, wmb after that the main lcore
updates the variable "t->done", which represents the end of the test
signal, is unnecessary. Because after the main lcore updates this
siginal variable, it will jump out of the launch function loop, and wait
other lcores stop or return error in the main function(evt_main.c).
During this time, there is no important storing operation and thus no
need for wmb.

c7c033d173 app/eventdev: fix SMP barrier in performance test
This patch fixes RTE SMP barrier bugs for the perf test of eventdev.

For the "perf_process_last_stage" function, wmb after storing
processed_pkts should be moved before it. This is because the worker
lcore should ensure it has really finished data processing, e.g. event
stored into buffers, before the shared variables "w->processed_pkts"are
stored.

For the "perf_process_last_stage_latency", on the one hand, the wmb
should be moved before storing into "w->processed_pkts". The reason is
the same as above. But on the other hand, for "w->latency", wmb is
unnecessary due to data dependency.

21b1ca4843 app/eventdev: remove redundant enqueue in burst Tx
For eventdev pipeline test, in burst_tx cases, there is no needed to
set ev.op as RTE_EVENT_OP_RELEASE and call pipeline_event_enqueue_burst
to release events. This is because for tx mode(internal_port=true),
the capability "implicit_release" of dev is enabled, and the app can
release events by "rte_event_dequeue_burst" rather than enqueue.

e0c0573783 app/eventdev: adjust event count order for pipeline test
For the fwd mode (internal_port = false) in pipeline test,
processed-pkts increment should after enqueue. However, in
multi_stage_fwd and multi_stage_burst_fwd, "w->processed_pkts" is
increased before enqueue.

To fix this, move "w->processed_pkts" increment after enqueue, and then
the main core can load the correct number of processed packets.

75d113136f eventdev: express DLB/DLB2 PMD constraints
This commit implements the eventdev ABI changes required by
the DLB/DLB2 PMDs. Several data structures and constants are modified
or added in this patch, thereby requiring modifications to the
dependent apps and examples.

The DLB/DLB2 hardware does not conform exactly to the eventdev interface.
1) It has a limit on the number of queues that may be linked to a port.
2) Some ports a further restricted to a maximum of 1 linked queue.
3) DLB does not have the ability to carry the flow_id as part
   of the event (QE) payload. Note that the DLB2 hardware is capable of
   carrying the flow_id.

Following is a detailed description of the changes that have been made.

1) Add new fields to the rte_event_dev_info struct. These fields allow
the device to advertise its capabilities so that applications can take
the appropriate actions based on those capabilities.

    struct rte_event_dev_info {
	uint32_t max_event_port_links;
	/**< Maximum number of queues that can be linked to a single event
	 * port by this device.
	 */

	uint8_t max_single_link_event_port_queue_pairs;
	/**< Maximum number of event ports and queues that are optimized for
	 * (and only capable of) single-link configurations supported by this
	 * device. These ports and queues are not accounted for in
	 * max_event_ports or max_event_queues.
	 */
    }

2) Add a new field to the rte_event_dev_config struct. This field allows
the application to specify how many of its ports are limited to a single
link, or will be used in single link mode.

    /** Event device configuration structure */
    struct rte_event_dev_config {
	uint8_t nb_single_link_event_port_queues;
	/**< Number of event ports and queues that will be singly-linked to
	 * each other. These are a subset of the overall event ports and
	 * queues; this value cannot exceed *nb_event_ports* or
	 * *nb_event_queues*. If the device has ports and queues that are
	 * optimized for single-link usage, this field is a hint for how many
	 * to allocate; otherwise, regular event ports and queues can be used.
	 */
    }

3) Replace the dedicated implicit_release_disabled field with a bit field
of explicit port capabilities. The implicit_release_disable functionality
is assigned to one bit, and a port-is-single-link-only attribute is
assigned to other, with the remaining bits available for future assignment.

	* Event port configuration bitmap flags */
	#define RTE_EVENT_PORT_CFG_DISABLE_IMPL_REL    (1ULL << 0)
	/**< Configure the port not to release outstanding events in
	 * rte_event_dev_dequeue_burst(). If set, all events received through
	 * the port must be explicitly released with RTE_EVENT_OP_RELEASE or
	 * RTE_EVENT_OP_FORWARD. Must be unset if the device is not
	 * RTE_EVENT_DEV_CAP_IMPLICIT_RELEASE_DISABLE capable.
	 */
	#define RTE_EVENT_PORT_CFG_SINGLE_LINK         (1ULL << 1)

	/**< This event port links only to a single event queue.
	 *
	 *  @see rte_event_port_setup(), rte_event_port_link()
	 */

	#define RTE_EVENT_PORT_ATTR_IMPLICIT_RELEASE_DISABLE 3
	/**
	 * The implicit release disable attribute of the port
	 */

	struct rte_event_port_conf {
		uint32_t event_port_cfg;
		/**< Port cfg flags(EVENT_PORT_CFG_) */
	}

ff0633d2b1 app/eventdev: fix possible uninitialized variable
When compiling with -O1, this error can appear:
	app/test-eventdev/test_pipeline_common.c:332:6: error:
	‘ret’ may be used uninitialized in this function

If there is no device, then ret is returned without being initialized.
It is fixed by setting 0 as initial value.

323e7b667f ethdev: make default behavior CRC strip on Rx
Removed DEV_RX_OFFLOAD_CRC_STRIP offload flag.
Without any specific Rx offload flag, default behavior by PMDs is to
strip CRC.

PMDs that support keeping CRC should advertise DEV_RX_OFFLOAD_KEEP_CRC
Rx offload capability.

Applications that require keeping CRC should check PMD capability first
and if it is supported can enable this feature by setting
DEV_RX_OFFLOAD_KEEP_CRC in Rx offload flag in rte_eth_dev_configure()

f8e9989606 remove useless constructor headers
A constructor is usually declared with RTE_INIT* macros.
As it is a static function, no need to declare before its definition.
The macro is used directly in the function definition.

4f5701f28b examples: fix RSS hash function configuration
ethdev layer introduced checks for application requested RSS hash
functions and returns error for ones unsupported by hardware

This check breaks some sample applications which blindly configures
RSS hash functions without checking underlying hardware support.

Updated examples to mask out unsupported RSS has functions during device
configuration.
Prints a log if configuration values updated by this check.

ab3ce1e0c1 ethdev: remove old offload API
In DPDK 17.11, the ethdev offloads API has changed:
	commit cba7f53b71 ("ethdev: introduce Tx queue offloads API")
	commit ce17eddefc ("ethdev: introduce Rx queue offloads API")
The new API is documented in the programmer's guide:
	http://doc.dpdk.org/guides/prog_guide/poll_mode_drv.html#hardware-offload

For reminder, the main concepts in the new API were:
	- All offloads are disabled by default
	- Distinction between per port and per queue offloads.

The transition bits are now removed:
	- Translation of the old API in ethdev
	- rte_eth_conf.rxmode.ignore_offload_bitfield
	- ETH_TXQ_FLAGS_IGNORE

The old API bits are now removed:
	- Rx per-port rte_eth_conf.rxmode.[bit-fields]
	- Tx per-queue rte_eth_txconf.txq_flags
	- ETH_TXQ_FLAGS_NO*

d9a42a69fe ethdev: deprecate port count function
Some DPDK applications wrongly assume these requirements:
    - no hotplug, i.e. ports are never detached
    - all allocated ports are available to the application

Such application iterates over ports by its own mean.
The most common pattern is to request the port count and
assume ports with index in the range [0..count[ can be used.

In order to fix this common mistake in all external applications,
the function rte_eth_dev_count is deprecated, while introducing
the new functions rte_eth_dev_count_avail and rte_eth_dev_count_total.
