This allows PMDs and applications to save flow rules in their generic format for later processing. This is useful when rules cannot be applied immediately, such as when the device is not properly initialized. DPDK is a set of libraries and drivers for fast packet processing. It supports many processor architectures and both FreeBSD and Linux.
