Daniel Verkamp 7cb4463dc5 build: use -std=gnu99 rather than -std=gnu11 ... We don't use any C11-specific features, and switching to C99 will allow us to support older versions of GCC. In particular, the version of GCC used by Travis CI is too old to support -std=gnu11.
