Changes since the last import: July 27, 2021: As per IEEE Std 1003.1-2008, -F "str" is now consistent with -v FS="str" when str is null. Thanks to Warner Losh. July 24, 2021: Fix readrec's definition of a record. This fixes an issue with NetBSD's RS regular expression support that can cause an infinite read loop. Thanks to Miguel Pineiro Jr. Fix regular expression RS ^-anchoring. RS ^-anchoring needs to know if it is reading the first record of a file. This change restores a missing line that was overlooked when porting NetBSD's RS regex functionality. This is the top level of the FreeBSD source directory.
FreeBSD is an operating system used to power modern servers, desktops, and embedded platforms. A large community has continually developed it for more than thirty years. Its advanced networking, security, and storage features have made FreeBSD the platform of choice for many of the busiest web sites and most pervasive embedded networking and storage devices.

The Makefile in this directory supports a number of targets for building components (or all) of the FreeBSD source tree. See build(7), config(8), FreeBSD handbook on building userland, and Handbook for kernels for more information, including setting make(1) variables.
