define procname or have a PID file. This might be useful for cases, such as mounting local FS, when there is no running daemon still some other persistent state in the system which status can be checked. It is still possible to have a status method before this by having extra_commands="status", but it's not obvious and might give an script writer some extra legwork to figure out how and why the straight method is not working. This is the top level of the FreeBSD source directory.
FreeBSD is an operating system used to power modern servers, desktops, and embedded platforms. A large community has continually developed it for more than thirty years. Its advanced networking, security, and storage features have made FreeBSD the platform of choice for many of the busiest web sites and most pervasive embedded networking and storage devices.
