Remake support for SMP kernel on UP cpu: - Use new option SMP_ON_UP instead of (mis)using specific CPU type. By this, any SMP kernel can be compiled with SMP_ON_UP support. - Enable runtime detection of CPU multiprocessor extensions only if SMP_ON_UP option is used. In other cases (pure SMP or UP), statically compile only required variant. - Don't leak multiprocessor instructions to UP kernel. - Correctly handle data cache write back to point of unification. Add new code to read and parse cpu identification data using the new CPUID mechanism defined for armv7 (and also present on some armv6 chips including the arm1176 used on rpi). The information is parsed into a global cpuinfo structure, which will be used by (upcoming) new cache and tlb maintenance code to handle cpu-specific variations of the maintence sequences. Introduce support for HW watchpoints and single stepping for ARMv6/v7 Allows for using hardware watchpoints for 1, 2, 4, 8 byte long addresses. The default configuration of watchpoint is RW but code allows to select RO or WO and X. Since debugging registers are per-CPU (CP14) the watchpoint is set on the CPU that was lucky (or not) to enter DDB. HW breakpoints are used to perform single step in KDB. When HW breakpoint is enabled all watchpoints are temporary disabled to avoid recursive abort on both watchpoint and breakpoint. In case of branch, the breakpoint is set to both - next instruction and possible branch address. This requires at least 2 breakpoints supported in the CPU however this is a must for ARMv6/v7 CPUs. Compile in in_cksum* implementations for both IPv6 and IPv6. While in_pseudo() etc. is often used in offloading feature support, in_cksum() is mostly used to fix some broken hardware. Keeping both around for the moment allows us to compile NIC drivers even in an IPv6 only environment without the need to mangle them with #ifdef INETs in a way they are not prepared for. The ci20 port (by kan@) is going to reuse almost all of the intrng code since the SoC in question looks suspiciously like someone took an ARM SoC design and replaced the ARM core with a MIPS core. * migrate out the code; * rename ARM_ -> INTR_; * rename arm_ -> intr_; * move the interrupt flush routine from intr.c / intrng.c into arm/machdep_intr.c - removing the code duplication and removing the ARM specific bits from here. Thanks to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere line for allowing me a couple hours of quiet time to finish the universe builds. Tested: * make universe TODO: * The structure definitions in subr_intr.c still includes machine/intr.h which requires one duplicates all of the intrng definitions in the platform code (which kan has done, and I think we don't have to.) Instead I should break out the generic things (function declarations, common intr structures, etc) into a separate header. * Kan has requested I make the PIC based IPI stuff optional.

Implement OF_decode_addr() for arm. Move most of powerpc's implementation into a new function that other platforms can share. This creates a new ofw_reg_to_paddr() function (in a new ofw_subr.c file) that contains most of the existing ppc implementation, mostly unchanged. The ppc code now calls the new MI code from the MD code, then creates a ppc-specific bus_space mapping from the results. The new arm implementation does the same in an arm-specific way. This also moves the declaration of OF_decode_addr() from ofw_machdep.h to openfirm.h, except on sparc64 which uses a different function signature. This will help all FDT platforms to set up early console access using OF_decode_addr().

Consolidate code related to setting up physical memory configuration into a new physmem.c file. The new code provides helper routines that can be used by legacy SoCs and newer FDT-based systems. There are routines to add one or more regions of physically contiguous ram, and exclude one or more physically contiguous regions of ram. Ram can be excluded from crash dumps, from being given over to the vm system for allocation management, or both. After all the included and excluded regions have been added, arm_physmem_init_kernel_globals() processes the regions into the global dump_avail and phys_avail arrays and realmem and physmem variables that communicate memory configuration to the rest of the kernel. Convert all existing SoCs to use the new helper code.

Add C11 atomic fallbacks for ARM. Basically the situation is as follows: - When using Clang + armv6, we should not need any intrinsics. It should support it, even though due to a target misconfiguration it does not. We should fix this in Clang. - When using Clang + noarmv6, provide __atomic_* functions that disable interrupts. - When using GCC + armv6, we can provide __sync_* intrinsics, similar to what we did for MIPS. As ARM and MIPS are quite similar, simply base this implementation on the one I did for MIPS. - When using GCC + noarmv6, disable the interrupts, like we do for Clang. This implementation still lacks functions for noarmv6 userspace. To be done.

Add very preliminary support for CloudABI for ARMv6. In order to make CloudABI work on ARMv6, start off by copying over the sysvec for ARM64 and adjust it to use 32-bit registers. Also add code for fetching arguments from the stack if needed, as there are fewer register than on ARM64. Also import the vDSO that is needed to invoke system calls. This vDSO uses the intra procedure call register (ip) to store the system call number. This is a bit simpler than what native FreeBSD does, as FreeBSD uses r7, while preserving the original r7 into ip. This sysvec seems to be complete enough to start CloudABI processes. These processes are capable of linking in the vDSO and are therefore capable of executing (most?) system calls successfully. Unfortunately, the biggest show stopper is still that TLS is completely broken: - The linker used by CloudABI, LLD, still has troubles with some of the relocations needed for TLS. See LLVM bug 30218 for more details. - Whereas FreeBSD uses the tpidruro register for TLS, for CloudABI I want to make use of tpidrurw, so that userspace can modify the base address directly. Merge projects/ipsec into head/. Small summary ------------- o Almost all IPsec releated code was moved into sys/netipsec. o New kernel modules added: ipsec.ko and tcpmd5.ko. New kernel option IPSEC_SUPPORT added. It enables support for loading and unloading of ipsec.ko and tcpmd5.ko kernel modules. o IPSEC_NAT_T option was removed. Now NAT-T support is enabled by default. The UDP_ENCAP_ESPINUDP_NON_IKE encapsulation type support was removed. Added TCP/UDP checksum handling for inbound packets that were decapsulated by transport mode SAs. setkey(8) modified to show run-time NAT-T configuration of SA. o New network pseudo interface if_ipsec(4) added. For now it is build as part of ipsec.ko module (or with IPSEC kernel). It implements IPsec virtual tunnels to create route-based VPNs. o The network stack now invokes IPsec functions using special methods. The only one header file <netipsec/ipsec_support.h> should be included to declare all the needed things to work with IPsec. o All IPsec protocols handlers (ESP/AH/IPCOMP protosw) were removed. Now these protocols are handled directly via IPsec methods. o TCP_SIGNATURE support was reworked to be more close to RFC. o PF_KEY SADB was reworked: - now all security associations stored in the single SPI namespace, and all SAs MUST have unique SPI. - several hash tables added to speed up lookups in SADB. - SADB now uses rmlock to protect access, and concurrent threads can do SA lookups in the same time. - many PF_KEY message handlers were reworked to reflect changes in SADB. - SADB_UPDATE message was extended to support new PF_KEY headers: SADB_X_EXT_NEW_ADDRESS_SRC and SADB_X_EXT_NEW_ADDRESS_DST. They can be used by IKE daemon to change SA addresses. o ipsecrequest and secpolicy structures were cardinally changed to avoid locking protection for ipsecrequest. Now we support only limited number (4) of bundled SAs, but they are supported for both INET and INET6. o INPCB security policy cache was introduced. Each PCB now caches used security policies to avoid SP lookup for each packet. o For inbound security policies added the mode, when the kernel does check for full history of applied IPsec transforms. o References counting rules for security policies and security associations were changed. The proper SA locking added into xform code. o xform code was also changed. Now it is possible to unregister xforms. tdb_xxx structures were changed and renamed to reflect changes in SADB/SPDB, and changed rules for locking and refcounting. Tag all armv7 kernels as such in their machine config line. Transition all boards that support arm cortex CPUs to armv7. This leaves two armv6 kernels in the tree. RPI-B, which uses the BCM2835 which has a ARM1176 core, and VERSATILEPB, which is a qemu board setup around the time RPI-B went in. Reduce OFW PCI code duplication - involves ARM, PPC and SPARC64 Import portions of the PowerPC OF PCI implementation into new file "ofwpci.c", common for other platforms. The files ofw_pci.c and ofw_pci.h from sys/powerpc/ofw no longer exist. All required declarations are moved to sys/dev/ofw/ofwpci.h. This creates a new ofw_pci_write_ivar() function and modifies some others methods. Most functions contain existing ppc implementations in the majority unchanged. Now there is no need to have multiple identical copies of methods for various architectures. Add basic support for FDT to i386 & amd64. This change includes: 1. Common headers for fdt.h and ofw_machdep.h under x86/include with indirections under i386/include and amd64/include. 2. New modinfo for loader provided FDT blob. 3. Common x86_init_fdt() called from hammer_time() on amd64 and init386() on i386. 4. Split-off FDT specific low-level console functions from FDT bus methods for the uart(4) driver. The low-level console logic has been moved to uart_cpu_fdt.c and is used for arm, mips & powerpc only. The FDT bus methods are shared across all architectures. 5. Add dev/fdt/fdt_x86.c to hold the fdt_fixup_table[] and the fdt_pic_table[] arrays. Both are empty right now. FDT addresses are I/O ports on x86. Since the core FDT code does not handle different address spaces, adding support for both I/O ports and memory addresses requires some thought and discussion. Introduce MSI and MSI-X support to intrng. This adds a new msi device interface with 5 methods to mirror the 5 MSI/MSI-X methods in the pcib interface. Merge all MD sf_buf allocators into one MI, residing in kern/subr_sfbuf.c The MD allocators were very common, however there were some minor differencies. These differencies were all consolidated in the MI allocator, under ifdefs. The defines from machine/vmparam.h turn on features required for a particular machine. For details look in the comment in sys/sf_buf.h. As result no MD code left in sys/*/*/vm_machdep.c. Some arches still have machine/sf_buf.h, which is usually quite small. The former compiles to a single byte comparison loop, which breaks down even for small sizes. The latter uses rep cmpsq/b which turn out to have very poor throughput and are slower than a hand-coded 32-byte comparison loop.
