df53ae0fdd Remove portsnap(8)
Rather than having a tool in the FreeBSD base system for obtaining
the FreeBSD ports tree, users are encouraged to `pkg install git`
and then `git clone https://git.FreeBSD.org/ports.git /usr/ports`.

The portsnap servers will continue operating until FreeBSD 13 reaches
its End-of-Life, and portsnap is available from the ports tree as
ports-mgmt/portsnap.

8561d0b2ec Simplify building host tools during DIRDEPS_BUILD
The whole point of the DIRDEPS_BUILD is to avoid tree walks
and basically build everything in a single pass.
We use the pseudo MACHINE "host" to represent the build host.

When the build host is not FreeBSD or is an older version of FreeBSD
it may need some help to build host-tools.

The directory tools/build does this - building libegacy.

local.sys.mk: create a pseudo option MK_host_egacy to indicate
if tools/build needs to be built for "host".

local.dirdeps.mk: set MK_host_egacy.host to ${MK_host_egacy}
all other DEP_MACHINES will get "no"

This allows a Makefile.depend.options in makefs etc to cause tools/build
to be built for host but only if necessary.

local.init.mk: use ISYSTEM as arg to -isystem so that it can be overridden.
The default remains ${STAGE_INCLUDEDIR}

src.init.mk: if MACHINE is host and we are not FreeBSD
set some MK_ flags the same as tools/build/mk/Makefile.boot.pre and
include src.init.${.MAKE.OS:tl}.mk if it exists.

For older versions of FreeBSD add libegacy when building PROGs for "host"

Also instead of -isystem${STAGE_INCLUDEDIR} we want
-I${STAGE_INCLUDEDIR} and -isystem/usr/include so we override ISYSTEM.
This means any headers we stage for "host" will take precedence over
system headers but #include_next will DTRT.

src.init.linux.mk: add
-I${SRCTOP}/tools/build/cross-build/include/linux
and generally deal with building host tools on Linux.
Eg. static linking does not work so set NO_SHARED= no
Override some HAVE_ flags.

src.sys.env.mk: on linux awk throws an warning about # in newvers.sh
just send stderr to /dev/null

f957a32dac Update meta.sys.mk and related local*mk
Move the setting of TARGET_SPEC_VARS to local.sys.env.mk
so meta.sys.mk can do the processing, and include local.meta.sys.mk
later.

Move the setting of GENDIRDEPS_FILTER*_VARS from local.gendirdeps.mk
to local.meta.sys.mk so we can automatically set DEP_* at level 1+
to avoid syntax errors when DEP_* variables are used in conditionals
in Makefile.depend files.

Update gendirdeps.mk just to get the documentation about the above.
No functional change.

local.dirdeps.mk be more careful about adding to DIRDEPS to avoid
unnecessary overhead, and introducing cycles in the graph.
Also set DEP_MACHINE_CPUARCH.

8fe4f8f7a7 Fix building host tools for host
Several makefile depend on tools built for host.
At least when using DIRDEPS_BUILD we can build these for the

Ideally we would build these tools in their own directories to avoid
building more than needed.

For now, setting an appropriate default for BTOOLSPATH will suffice

d862b165a6 bridge: Add support for emulated netmap mode
if_bridge receives packets via a special interface, if_bridge_input,
rather than by if_input. Thus, netmap's usual hooking of ifnet routines
does not work as expected. Instead, modify bridge_input() to pass
packets directly to netmap when it is enabled. This applies to both
locally delivered packets and forwarded packets.

When a netmap application transmits a packet by writing it to the host
TX ring, the mbuf chain is passed to if_input, which ordinarily points
to ether_input(). However, when transmitting via if_bridge,
bridge_input() needs to see the packet again in order to decide whether
to deliver or forward. Thus, introduce a new protocol flag,
M_BRIDGE_INJECT, which 1) causes the packet to be passed to
bridge_input() again after Ethernet processing, and 2) avoids passing
the packet back to netmap. The source MAC address of the packet is used
to determine the original "receiving" interface.

cab1056105 kdb: Modify securelevel policy
Currently, sysctls which enable KDB in some way are flagged with
CTLFLAG_SECURE, meaning that you can't modify them if securelevel > 0.
This is so that KDB cannot be used to lower a running system's
securelevel, see commit 3d7618d8bf. However, the newer mac_ddb(4)
restricts DDB operations which could be abused to lower securelevel
while retaining some ability to gather useful debugging information.

To enable the use of KDB (specifically, DDB) on systems with a raised
securelevel, change the KDB sysctl policy: rather than relying on
CTLFLAG_SECURE, add a check of the current securelevel to kdb_trap().
If the securelevel is raised, only pass control to the backend if MAC
specifically grants access; otherwise simply check to see if mac_ddb
vetoes the request, as before.

Add a new secure sysctl, debug.kdb.enter_securelevel, to override this
behaviour. That is, the sysctl lets one enter a KDB backend even with a
raised securelevel, so long as it is set before the securelevel is
raised.

3eaffc6265 netinet6: allow disabling excess log messages
RFC 4443 specifies cases where certain packets, like those originating from
local-scope addresses destined outside of the scope shouldn't be forwarded.
The current practice is to drop them, send ICMPv6 message where appropriate,
and log the message:

cannot forward src fe80:10::426:82ff:fe36:1d8, dst 2001:db8:db8::10, nxt
58, rcvif vlan5, outif vlan2

At times the volume of such messages cat get very high. Let's allow local
admins to disable such messages on per vnet basis, keeping the current
default (log).

This review ports mlx5 driver, kernel's OFED stack (userland is already enabled), KTLS and krping to powerpc64 and powerpc64le.

krping requires a small change since it uses assembly for amd64 / i386.

NOTE: On powerpc64le RDMA works fine in the userspace with libmlx5, but on powerpc64 it does not. The problem is that contrib/ofed/libmlx5/doorbell.h checks for SIZEOF_LONG but this macro exists on neither powerpc64* nor amd64. Thus, the file silently goes to the fallback function written for 32-bit architectures. It works fine on little-endian architectures, but causes a hard fail on big-endian. It's possible it may also cause some runtime issues on little-endian.
Thus, on powerpc64 I verified that RDMA works with krping.

5644850620 ddb: have 'reset' command use normal reboot path
This conditionally gives all registered shutdown handlers a chance to
perform the reboot, with cpu_reset() being the fallback. The '\s'
modifier can be used with the command to get the previous behaviour.

The motivation is that some platforms may not be able do anything
meaningful via cpu_reset(), due to a lack of standardized reset
mechanism and/or firmware shortcomings. However, they may have a
separate device driver attached that normally performs the reboot. Such
is the case for some versions of the Raspberry Pi, where reset via PSCI
fails, but the BCM2835 watchdog driver has a shutdown hook.

8664e266d6 growfs(7): clarify assumptions and limitations
Document that the growfs(7) script works only if the root file system
is in the last partition and free space immediately follows it.
Don't imply that /usr can be a separate partition, as that would
likely mean that root is not last.

99aeb219ca wdatwd: Add support for ACPI WDAT based watchdog timer.
Simply said, WDAT is an abstraction for the real WDT hardware. For
instance, to add a newer generation WDT to ichwd(4), one must know the
detailed hardware registers, etc..

With WDAT, the necessary IO accesses to operate the WDT are comprehensively
described in it and no hardware knowledge is required.

With this driver, the WDT on Advantech ARK-1124C, Dell R210 and Dell R240 are
detected and operated flawlessly.
* While R210 is also supported by ichwd(4), others are not supported yet.

The unfortunate thing is that not all systems have WDAT defined.

0acc026dda CTL: Increase maximum SCSI tag size from 32 to 64 bits.
SAM-5 specification states maximum size of command identifier (tag),
defined by specific transports, should not be larger than 64 bits.
While most of supported transports use 32 bits or less, it was
reported that virtio-scsi uses 64 bits. Truncation to 32 bits in
bhyve code caused false tag conflict errors reported and possibly
other issues.

This changes CTL ABI and HA protocol, so CTL_HA_VERSION is bumped.

While we make HA protocol incompatible, increase default maximum
number of ports in CTL from 256 to 1024, matching number of LUNs.
There are many reports from people who need many iSCSI targets with
only one LUN each. Increased memory consumption should be less of
a problem these days.

442295c1fe Silence GCC warnings when using libc++ headers.
GCC 12 raises warnings about literal operator suffixes not preceded by
'_' in libc++ headers such as <string_view> as it doesn't recognize
libc++ headers being an implementation of the standard.

GCC 12 also warns about clang-specific pragmas in <locale>.

Disabling these warnings globally for all C++ code is not ideal, but
is a better option than patching libc++ headers to ignore these
warnings.

f4d3aa7490 netlink: suppress sending NLMSG_ERROR if NLMSG_DONE is already sent
Netlink has a confirmation/error reporting mechanism for the sent
messages. Kernel explicitly acks each messages if requested (NLM_F_ACK)
or if message processing results in an error.
Similarly, for multipart messages - typically dumps, where each message
represents a single object like an interface or a route - another
message, NLMSG_DONE is used to indicate the end of dump and the
 resulting status.
As a result, successfull dump ends with both NLMSG_DONE and NLMSG_ERROR
 messages.
RFC 3549 does not say anything specific about such case.
Linux adopted an optimisation which suppresses NLMSG_ERROR message
when NLMSG_DONE is already sent. Certain libraries/applications like
 libnl depends on such behavior.

Suppress sending NLMSG_ERROR if NLMSG_DONE is already sent, by
setting newly-added 'suppress_ack' flag in the writer and checking
 this flag when generating ack.

This change restores libnl compatibility.

57e047e51c pf: allow scrub rules without fragment reassemble
scrub rules have defaulted to handling fragments for a long time, but
since we removed "fragment crop" and "fragment drop-ovl" in 64b3b4d611
this has become less obvious and more expensive ("reassemble" being the
more expensive option, even if it's the one the vast majority of users
should be using).

Extend the 'scrub' syntax to allow fragment reassembly to be disabled,
while retaining the other scrub behaviour (e.g. TTL changes, random-id,
..) using 'scrub fragment no reassemble'.
