Bring in the start of the arm64 kernel. This is only the minimum set of files needed to boot in qemu. As such it is missing a few things. The bus_dma code is currently only stub functions with a full implementation from the development tree to follow. The gic driver has been copied as the interrupt framework is different. It is expected the two drivers will be merged by the arm intrng project, however this will need to be imported into the tree and support for arm64 would need to be added. This includes code developed by myself, SemiHalf, Ed Maste, and Robin Randhawa from ARM. This has been funded by the FreeBSD Foundation, with early development by myself in my spare time with assistance from Robin. Add a gic interface to allocate MSI interrupts The previous update to handle the gicv2m as a child of the gicv3 driver assumed there was only a single gicv2m child. On some hardware there are multiple children. Support this by removing the mbi ivars and adding a new interface to handle MSI allocation in a given range. Add arm64 pointer authentication support Pointer authentication allows userspace to add instructions to insert a Pointer Authentication Code (PAC) into a register based on an address and modifier and check if the PAC is correct. If the check fails it will either return an invalid address or fault to the kernel. As many of these instructions are a NOP when disabled and in earlier revisions of the architecture this can be used, for example, to sign the return address before pushing it to the stack making Return-oriented programming (ROP) attack more difficult on hardware that supports them. The kernel manages five 128 bit signing keys: 2 instruction keys, 2 data keys, and a generic key. The instructions then use one of these when signing the registers. Instructions that use the first four store the PAC in the register being signed, however the instructions that use the generic key store the PAC in a separate register. Currently all userspace threads share all the keys within a process with a new set of userspace keys being generated when executing a new process. This means a forked child will share its keys with its parent until it calls an appropriate exec system call. In the kernel we allow the use of one of the instruction keys, the ia key. This will be used to sign return addresses in function calls. Unlike userspace each kernel thread has its own randomly generated. Thread0 has a static key as does the early code on secondary CPUs. This should be safe as there is minimal user interaction with these threads, however we could generate random keys when the Armv8.5 Random number generation instructions are present. arm64: add KASAN support This entails: - Marking some obvious candidates for __nosanitizeaddress - Similar trap frame markings as amd64, for similar reasons - Shadow map implementation The shadow map implementation is roughly similar to what was done on amd64, with some exceptions. Attempting to use available space at preinit_map_va + PMAP_PREINIT_MAPPING_SIZE (up to the end of that range, as depicted in the physmap) results in odd failures, so we instead search the physmap for free regions that we can carve out, fragmenting the shadow map as necessary to try and fit as much as we need for the initial kernel map. pmap_bootstrap_san() is thus after pmap_bootstrap(), which still included some technically reserved areas of the memory map that needed to be included in the DMAP. The odd failure noted above may be a bug, but I haven't investigated it all that much. Initial work by mhorne with additional fixes from kevans and markj. This includes a collection of drivers for ARM Coresight interconnect devices within a small Coresight framework. Supported devices are: o Embedded Trace Macrocell v4 (ETMv4) o Funnel o Dynamic Replicator o Trace Memory Controller (TMC) o CPU debug module Devices are connected to each other internally in SoC and the configuration of each device endpoints is described in FDT. Typical trace flow (as found on Qualcomm Snapdragon 410e): CPU0 -> ETM0 -> funnel1 -> funnel0 -> ETF -> replicator -> ETR -> DRAM CPU1 -> ETM1 -^ CPU2 -> ETM2 -^ CPU3 -> ETM3 -^ Note that both Embedded Trace FIFO (ETF) and Embedded Trace Router (ETR) are hardware configurations of TMC. Add accelerated AES with using the ARMv8 crypto instructions. This is based on the AES-NI code, and modified as needed for use on ARMv8. When loaded the driver will check the appropriate field in the id_aa64isar0_el1 register to see if AES is supported, and if so the probe function will signal the driver should attach. With this I have seen up to 2000Mb/s from the cryptotest test with a single thread on a ThunderX Pass 2.0. Add accelerated AES with using the ARMv8 crypto instructions. This is based on the AES-NI code, and modified as needed for use on ARMv8. When loaded the driver will check the appropriate field in the id_aa64isar0_el1 register to see if AES is supported, and if so the probe function will signal the driver should attach. With this I have seen up to 2000Mb/s from the cryptotest test with a single thread on a ThunderX Pass 2.0. Add initial DPAA2 support DPAA2 is a hardware-level networking architecture found in some NXP SoCs which contain hardware blocks including Management Complex (MC, a command interface to manipulate DPAA2 objects), Wire Rate I/O processor (WRIOP, packets distribution, queuing, drop decisions), Queues and Buffers Manager (QBMan, Rx/Tx queues control, Rx buffer pools) and the others. The Management Complex runs NXP-supplied firmware which provides DPAA2 objects as an abstraction layer over those blocks to simplify an access to the underlying hardware. Each DPAA2 object has its own driver (to perform an initialization at least) and will be visible as a separate device in the device tree. Two new drivers (dpaa2_mc and dpaa2_rc) act like firmware buses in order to form a hierarchy of the DPAA2 devices: acpiX (or simplebusX) dpaa2_mcX dpaa2_rcX dpaa2_mcp0 ... dpaa2_mcpN dpaa2_bpX dpaa2_macX dpaa2_io0 ... dpaa2_ioM dpaa2_niX dpaa2_mc is suppossed to be a root of the hierarchy, comes in ACPI and FDT flavours and implements helper interfaces to allocate and assign bus resources, MSI and "managed" DPAA2 devices (NXP treats some of the objects as resources for the other DPAA2 objects to let them function properly). Almost all of the DPAA2 objects are assigned to the resource containers (dpaa2_rc) to implement isolation. The initial implementation focuses on the DPAA2 network interface to be operational. It is the most complex object in terms of dependencies which uses I/O objects to transmit/receive packets. Introduce new driver for NXP Ethernet controller ENETC it a gigabit Ethernet controller found on the LS1028A board. It supports basic VLAN offloads - tag extraction, injection and hardware filtering. Inband MDIO connectivity is used for link status monitoring through the miibus interface. Fixed-link mode is also supported, which allows for operation of internal cpu to switch port. Since no admin interrupts are present in hardware, link status polling has to be used. Due to a hardware bug software reset of the NIC results in a external abort. Because of that most of the hardware initialization is done during attach. This also means that in the case of an fatal error full board reset is required. The enetc_hw.h header was imporoted from Linux. It is dual licensed. ice(4): Add RDMA Client Interface This allows the "irdma" driver to communicate with the ice(4) driver to allow it access to the underlying device's hardware resources as well as synchronize access to shared resources. This interface already existed in the standalone out-of-tree 1.34.2 driver; this commit adds and enables it in the in-kernel driver. Note: Adds hack to module Makefile to compile interface/.m files These are required for the RDMA client interface, but they don't build as-is like the normal .c files. The source directory doesn't seem to be included by default, so add lines that specifically add them as libraries so that ice_rdma.h can be found and the interface files will compile. dwc3: add ACPI attachment Split the current FDT-only implementation up into an FDT and an ACPI part reusing and sharing as much code as possible (thanks mw!). This makes the Synopsis XHCI root hubs attach correctly on SolidRun's HoenyComb instead of just the generic XHCI root and this means we are also doing proper chip setup and applying the quirk needed there [1]. There is one problem with ACPI attachment in that it uses the generic XHCI PNP ID. So we need to do extra checks in order to not claim all xhci, which means we check for a known quirk to be present in acpi_probe. Long term this isn't scaling and this was discussed in SolidRun's Discord Channel in 2021 with the intend that "jnettlet" will take this to a steering committee. Since then ACPI has kind-of become a technology non grata (due to not getting changes into Linux timely) so it is unclear if this will ever happen. If there will be further hardware with dwc3/ACPI we should go and make sure this problem gets solved.
