04f55b5b0e bhyve smbios type 3 structure is incorrect
If you look at the SMBIOS specification, we'll find something is
missing. In particular at offset 0Dh is supposed to be the OEM-defined
field. This should go between security and height. It is not legal to
actually skip this and will lead to other folks not properly
interpreting later parts of the table.

f1442847c9 bhyve: passthru: enable BARs before possibly mmap(2)ing them
The first time we start bhyve with a passthru device everything is fine
as on boot we do enable BARs. If a driver (unload) inside bhyve disables
the BAR(s) as some Linux drivers do, we need to make sure we re-enable
them on next bhyve start.

If we are trying to mmap a disabled BAR for MSI-X (PCIOCBARMMAP)
the kernel will give us an EBUSY.
While we were re-enabling the BAR(s) in the current code loop
cfginit() was writing the changes out too late to the real hardware.

Move the call to init_msix_table() after the register on the real
hardware was updated. That way the kernel will be happy and the
mmap will succeed and bhyve will start.
Also simplify the code given the last argument to init_msix_table()
is unused we do not need to do checks for each bar. [1]

c74ab5ce6f iscsid: Always free the duplicated address in resolve_addr().
If a "raw" IPv6 address (denoted by a leading '[') is used as a target
address, then 'arg' is incremented by one to skip over the '['.
However, this meant that at the end of the function the wrong address
was passed to free(). With malloc junking enabled and given suitably
small strings, malloc() would happily overwrite the correct number of
bytes with junk, but off by one byte overwriting the byte after the
allocation.

This manifested as the first byte of the 'HeaderDigest' key being
overwritten causing the key name on the wire to be sent as
'\x5eaderDigest' which the target rejected.

fa255ab1b8 ctld: Disable -Wcast-align warnings.
clang complains about the downcasts from struct connection to struct
ctld_connection as the alignment of struct ctld_connection is higher
on 32-bit platforms. However, the warning is in this case harmless as
the downcasts are on objects originally allocated as instances of
struct ctld_connection with suitable alignment.

Move some of the code duplicated between ctld(8) and iscsid(8) into a

Sharing the low-level PDU code did require having a
'struct connection' base class with a method table to permit separate

usbconfig: use getopt(3) for option handling
This makes option handling consistent with other utilities as well as
Posix rules. By that, it's no longer important whether option name and
its argument are separated by a space or not, so -d5.3 works the same
as -d 5.3.

Also, recognize either /dev/ugen or ugen as prefix to the -d argument.

Note that this removes the undocumented feature that allowed to
specify multiple -d n.m options interleaved with commands referring to
that particular device in a single run.

d8c1d7b652 bhyve blockif: fix blockif_candelete with Capsicum
NVMe conformance tests for the Format command failed if the
backing-storage for the bhyve device was a file instead of a Zvol. The
tests (and the specification) expect a Format to destroy all previously
written data. The bhyve NVMe emulation implements this by trimming /
deallocating all data from the backing-storage.

The blockif_candelete() function indicated the file did not support
deallocation (i.e. fpathconf(..., _PC_DEALLOC_PRESENT) returned FALSE)
even though the kernel supported file hole punching. This occurs on
builds with Capsicum enabled because blockif did not allow the
fpathconf(2) right.

Fix is to add CAP_FPATHCONF to the cap_rights_init(3) call.

df90aeac24 Fix build with -DNO_ROOT
The inclusion of 0a0f748641 broke the build with the -DNO_ROOT option.
Specifically, that commit adds some relative paths (with `..`) to METALOG
that make other tools using that log, fail afterwards (tar, makefs...).

It's been argued[1] if this is really something mtree(8) should handle more
graciously. In the meantime, fix the breakage but changing the order in which
the links are created: first in the parent directory, then in the
architecture-specific one.

We keep the architecture-specific directories an the links to the parent
directories. This is something that we might want to change in the future.

This commit is based on a concept patch by avg@.

2eb2079554 bhyve: keep physical and virtual COMMAND reg in sync
On startup all virtual BARs are registered.
Additionally, the encoding bit in the virtual cmd register is set.
After that, the passthru emulation overwrites the virtual cmd register with
the physical one.
This could lead to a mismatch between registered BARs and the encoding
bits in the cmd register.
Instead of writing the physical to the virtual cmd register,
write the virtual to the physical cmd register to solve this issue.

overread will be detected and trap with a bounds violation.

Previously we updated the conection's conn_max_recv_data_segment_length
only when we received a response containing MaxRecvDataSegmentLength
from the target. If the target did not send MaxRecvDataSegmentLength
then we left conn_max_recv_data_segment_length at the default (i.e.,

advertised maximum), and we would drop the connection.

RFC 7143 specifies that MaxRecvDataSegmentLength is Declarative, not
negotiated. Just set conn_max_recv_data_segment_length to our
advertised value in login_negotiate().

1b0e2f0b60 bhyve: ignore low bits of CFGADR
Bhyve could emulate wrong PCI registers.
In the best case, the guest reads wrong registers and the device driver would
report some errors.
In the worst case, the guest writes to wrong PCI registers and could brick
hardware when using PCI passthrough.

According to Intels specification, low bits of CFGADR should be
ignored. Some OS like linux may rely on it. Otherwise, bhyve could
emulate a wrong PCI register.

E.g.
If linux would like to read 2 bytes from offset 0x02, following would
happen.
linux:
	outl 0x80000002 at CFGADR
	inw at CFGDAT + 2
bhyve:
	cfgoff = 0x80000002 & 0xFF = 0x02
	coff   = cfgoff + (port - CFGDAT) = 0x02 + 0x02 = 0x04
Bhyve would emulate the register at offset 0x04 not 0x02.

Intel wifi devices place registers in a page shared with the MSI-X

Kill two birds with one stone: map the MSI-X table BAR using the
PCIOCBARMMAP ioctl instead of /dev/mem, and map the entire table so that
accesses beyond the bounds of the table can be emulated. Regions of the
BAR not containing the table are left unmapped.

d18c9a9197 RPCBIND: skip ipv6 link local when request is not from link local address
RPCINFO on macOS behaves different compared to other linux clients and
doesn't provide request address in rpcb structure of the
RPCBPROC_GETADDRLIST call which doesn't seem to be forbidden.

In this case RPCBIND uses RPC call's source address and picks a
closest corresponding local address. If there are no addresses in the
same subnet as the source address, return of RPCBIND may vary
depending on the order of addresses returned in getifaddrs. If a link
local precedes global address it may be returned even if the request
comes from neither a link local nor from link local in a different
scope, which will prevent services like nfs from working in tpc6
scenario on macOS clients. Issue can be seen only on FreeBSD rpcbind
port due to changes in workflow of addrmerge call.

3b4cc56e52 syslogd: undo regression after r326573
Restore ability for our syslogd to collect pre-RFC3164 formatted
messages from remote hosts that was broken with r326573.

For example, the line from Cisco SCE8000 splitted for readability:

1130: 03:37:57: %USER-6-PORT_OPERSTATUS_CHANGE_TRAP: CPU#000 trap:link
down EntityAdminState: 4 EntityAlarmStatus: 32

Such line was collected and stored before mentioned change
but silently dropped after that. Now syslogd saves it again.

Note that parsing of RFC5424 format not changed.

d35164539b pkg: use specific CONFSNAME_${file} for FreeBSD.conf
Setting CONFSNAME directly is a little more complicated for downstream
consumers, as any additional CONFS that are added here will inherit the
group name by default. This is perhaps arguably a design flaw in CONFS
because inheriting NAME will never give a good result when additional
files are added, but this is a low-effort change.

While we're here, pull FreeBSD.conf.${branch} out into a PKGCONF
variable so one can just drop a new repo config in entirely with a new
naming scheme. CONFSNAME gets set based on chopping anything off after
".conf", so that, e.g.:

- FooBSD.conf => FooBSD.conf
- FooBSD.conf.internal => FooBSD.conf

While pkg(7) add only handles a single 'add' argument, pkg-add(8) fully

Stop rejecting it, just turn off local-bootstrap mode and proceed to
remote bootstrap if we need it.

While we're here, check if the first argument to pkg add is even a pkg
package. If it's not, also do remote bootstrap instead. Future work
could improve this altogether by picking out a pkg package out of many
and local bootstrap then pass the rest through to the newly installed
pkg.

f28f138905 freebsd-update: create a ZFS boot environment on install
Updated freebsd-update to allow it to create boot environments using
bectl should the system support it. The bectl utility was updated in
r352211 (490e13c140) to support a 'check' to determine if the system
supports boot environments. If UFS is used, the bectl check will fail
then no attempt will be made to create the boot environment.

If freebsd-update is run inside a jail, no attempt will be made to
create a boot environment.

The boot environment function will create a new environment using the
format: current FreeBSD kernel version and date/timestamp, example:

12.0-RELEASE-p10_2019-10-03_185233

This functionality can be disabled by setting 'CreateBootEnv' in

8b487b8292 Fix bsd.subdir.mk-related issues after 0a0f748641
Since bsd.prog.mk includes bsd.obj.mk, and thus bsd.subdir.mk, we must
ensure all our bsd.subdir.mk-affecting variables are set before
including bsd.prog.mk. Since sbin's various Makefile.arch files add to
SUBDIR this results in those not taking effect, and presumably we also
end up not having buildworld as parallel as it should be due to the fact
that SUBDIR_PARALLEL was not being set before including bsd.prog.mk.

0a0f748641 man: Build manpages for all architectures
Building and installing architecture-specific man pages only raises a number of
problems:

 * The https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi is incomplete. As an
example, it does not show results for pae(4). The reason for this is
that the cgi interface runs on FreeBSD amd64.

 * In FreeBSD amd64 some manual pages have broken X-refs. See hptrr(4)
   for an example.

 * Also, we have broken links in our Release Notes. This is a
consequence of the first point. See
   https://www.freebsd.org/releases/13.0R/hardware/#proc-i386.

Make MAN_ARCH default to 'all' so we build all the man pages for all the
architectures. The difference in disk space is negligible. Also link
architecture-specific man pages to their own section while keeping their own
namespace.

form "Skipping XXX-YYY (123 of 4567).\r", where the \r serves to allow
each of these (potentially many) lines to overwrite the previous one
on the console. Unfortunately, XXX and YYY here are SHA256 hashes,
resulting in these lines wrapping on reasonable-width consoles.

Replace the hashes with abbreviations of the form "0123...cdef"
(cutting 64 characters down to 11) in order to keep lines to a
reasonable length.

The rather ugly shell code here is used to avoid forking additional
processes; it would be much cleaner using sed(1), but in my testing
the sed-based alternative increases CPU time consumption by 50%.

91064841d7 bhyve: Fix NVMe iovec construction for large IOs
The UEFI driver included with Rocky Linux 8.4 uncovered an existing bug
in the NVMe emulation's construction of iovec's.

By default, NVMe data transfer operations use a scatter-gather list in
which all entries point to a fixed size memory region. For example, if
the Memory Page Size is 4KiB, a 2MiB IO requires 512 entries. Lists
themselves are also fixed size (default is 512 entries).

Because the list size is fixed, the last entry is special. If the IO
requires more than 512 entries, the last entry in the list contains the
address of the next list of entries. But if the IO requires exactly 512
entries, the last entry points to data.

The NVMe emulation missed this logic and unconditionally treated the
last entry as a pointer to the next list. Fix is to check if the
remaining data is greater than the page size before using the last entry
as a pointer to the next list.

25ecdc7d52 wpa: Restructure wpa build
The current WPA build assumes a flat namespace. However the latest sources
from w1.fi now have a duplicate config.c, in two separate subdirectories.
The flat namespace will overwrite config.o with the output from the most
recently modified config.c, of which there are two of them.

This commit resolves this problem by building each component in
wpa's src subdirectory tree into its own .a archive, just as the w1.fi
upstream build as used by the port does. The advantages of this approach
are:

1. Duplicate source file names, i.e. config.c in the wpa_supplicant
direcory and another config.c in src/utils in the next wpa
will result in both compiles writing to the same .o file.

2. This restructure simplifies maintanence. A develper needs only to add
new files as identified by git status in the vendor branch to the
appropriate Makefile within the usr.sbin/wpa tree. This also reduces
time required to prepare a new import and should reduce error.

3. The new wpa build structure more closely represents the build as
   performed by the upstream tarball.

This is in preparation for the next wpa update from w1.fi.

40923b0c81 Fix scripted installation from media without local distfiles.
The bsdinstall script target did not have the infrastructure to fetch
distfiles from a remote server the way the interactive installer does
on e.g. bootonly media. Solve this by factoring out the parts of the
installer that deal with fetching missing distributions into a new
install stage called 'fetchmissingdists', which is called by both the
interactive and scripted installer frontends.

In the course of these changes, cleaned up a few other issues with
the fetching of missing distribution files and added a warning if
fetching the MANIFEST file, which is used to verify the integrity of
the distribution files. We should at some point add cryptographic
signatures to MANIFEST so that it can be fetched safely if not present
on the install media (which it is for bootonly media).

Do not assume that the kernel boot time is invariant. It is not. FreeBSD
uses the formula:

get the proper time of day. FreeBSD offers a way to retrieve the uptime
directly, so use that instead of trying to compute it by subtracting
boot_time from wall_time.

0611aec3cf etcupdate: Always extract to a temporary tree.
etcupdate has had a somewhat nasty race condition since its creation
in that its state machine can get very confused if it is interrupted
while building the tree to compare against. This is exacerbated by
the fact that etcupdate doesn't emit any output while building the
tree which can take several seconds (especially in recent years with
the addition of the tree-wide buildconfig/installconfig passes).

To mitigate this, always install a new tree into a temporary directory
created via mktemp as was previously done only for dry-runs via -n.
The existing trees are only rotated and the new tree installed as
/var/db/etcupdate/current after the update command has completed.

in legacy virtio-9p config parsing by not initializing *sharename to

Fix by adding NULL back.

afb6a168f8 Allocate extra inodes in makefs when leaving free space in UFS images.
By default, makefs(8) has very few spare inodes in its output images,
which is fine for static filesystems, but not so great for VM images
where many more files will be added. Make makefs(8) use the same
default settings as newfs(8) when creating images with free space --
there isn't much point to leaving free space on the image if you
can't put files there. If no free space is requested, use current
behavior of a minimal number of available inodes.

b43fe9eb4b nfsd: silence rpcb_unset noise for NFSv4 only servers
An NFSv4 only configuration does not register with
rpcbind(). Without this patch a failure to rpcb_unset()
is reported when the daemon is terminated for this case.

This is harmless noise, but this patch avoids calling
rpcb_unset() for the NFSv4 only case, avoiding the noise.

When called with "-d", it still does the rpcb_unset(),
assuming that the configuration might have been
changed to NFSv4 only and unregistering with
rpcbind() might still be needed.

When lockd is configured with a debug level of > 0 and foreground == 0,
the process is daemonized with a truth noclose argument to daemon().
This doesn't seem to be the desired behavior because that prevents

used anywhere else. Furthermore, the man pages state that with a higher
debug level it will use the syslog facilities to do so.

5140034cc0 Add a new mode to the scripted partition editor for variant disk names.
If the disk parameter "DEFAULT" is set in place of an actual device name,
or no disk is specified for the PARTITIONS parameter, the installer will
follow the logic used in the automatic-partitioning mode, in which it
will either provide a selection dialog for one of several disks if
several are present or automatically select it if there is only one. This
simplifies the creation of fully-automatic installation media for
hardware or VMs with varying disk names.

efad9c8ba3 align nfsdumpstate column output
There are scenarios where an NFS client will mount an NFSv4 export
without specifying a callback address.

When running nfsdumpstate under this circumstance, the column output is
shifted incorrectly which places the "ClientID" value underneath the
"Clientaddr" column.

This diff is a small cosmetic change that prints a blank in the
"Clientaddr" column and ensures the data for the columns are aligned
appropriately.
