be856325cb hash: add scalable multi-writer insertion with Intel TSX
This patch introduced scalable multi-writer Cuckoo Hash insertion
based on a split Cuckoo Search and Move operation using Intel
TSX. It can do scalable hash insertion with 22 cores with little
performance loss and negligible TSX abortion rate.

* Added an extra rte_hash flag definition to switch default single writer
  Cuckoo Hash behavior to multiwriter.
    - If HTM is available, it would use hardware feature for concurrency.
    - If HTM is not available, it would fall back to spinlock.

* Created a rte_cuckoo_hash_x86.h file to hold all x86-arch related
  cuckoo_hash functions. And rte_cuckoo_hash.c uses compile time flag to
  select x86 file or other platform-specific implementations. While HTM check
  is still done at runtime (same idea with
  RTE_HASH_EXTRA_FLAGS_TRANS_MEM_SUPPORT)

* Moved rte_hash private struct definitions to rte_cuckoo_hash.h, to allow
  rte_cuckoo_hash_x86.h or future platform dependent functions to include.

* Following new functions are created for consistent names when new platform
  TM support are added.
    - rte_hash_cuckoo_move_insert_mw_tm: do insertion with bucket movement.
    - rte_hash_cuckoo_insert_mw_tm: do insertion without bucket movement.

* One extra multi-writer test case is added.

449c49b93a mempool: support handler operations
Until now, the objects stored in a mempool were internally stored in a
ring. This patch introduces the possibility to register external handlers
replacing the ring.

The default behavior remains unchanged, but calling the new function
rte_mempool_set_ops_byname() right after rte_mempool_create_empty() allows
the user to change the handler that will be used when populating
the mempool.

This patch also adds a set of default ops (function callbacks) based
on rte_ring.

2b52e1e95a app/test: add SNOW 3G UEA2 with offset

8bd4d819bf app/test: fix buffer lengths for SNOW 3G
No padding was added in the input buffers for snow3G tests,
due to a wrong calculation of the length (should be multiple
of the block size). This fix takes into account the case
where the length is not byte multiple.

db4faf4698 app/test: add new buffer comparison macros
In order to compare buffers with length and offset in bits,
new macros have been created, which use the previous compare function
to compare full bytes and then, compare first and last bytes of
each buffer separately.

47df73a1a6 app/test: use hexdump if debug log is enabled
Instead of using the previous RTE_APP_TEST_DEBUG macro,
to dump memory when it was enabled (with rte_hexdump),
a new TEST_HEXDUMP is defined, which will call rte_hexdump
if RTE_LOG_LEVEL is set to RTE_LOG_DEBUG.

1dbba1650c app/test: remove real PCI ids
There are 2 new fake devices for testing PCI infra. All the fake devices
are now identified by non-existing vendor and device IDs so there is no
real driver to bind to them. The testing drivers match those IDs.

18aa32725e config: make libarchive optional
The commit 66819e6 has introduced a dependency on libarchive to be able
to use some tar resources in the unit tests.
It is now an optional dependency because some systems do not have it
installed.

If CONFIG_RTE_APP_TEST_RESOURCE_TAR is disabled, the PCI test will not
be run. When a "configure" script will be integrated, the libarchive
availability could be checked to automatically enable the option.

x86_64-native-linuxapp-gcc/include/rte_memcpy.h:796:14
error: array subscript is above array bounds.

In test_cryptodev.c:
2429	rte_memcpy(sym_op->cipher.iv.data, iv, iv_len);

When iv_len is declared as 'unsigned int', rte_memcpy evaluates code for
buffer size bigger than 255, but while 'iv' array is 64 bytes long, it
causes 'above array bounds' warning in gcc 4.5 and breaks compilation.

Using uint8_t as a size of copied block prevents to evaluate in rte_memcpy
code for length bigger than 255, causing the problem.

The root of this issue and solution is the same as for commit 2c007ea106
("app/test: fix array overflow warning with gcc 4.5")

517b81d164 app/test: reduce duration of red functional test
'red_autotest' changed to run only functional tests without test #4 which was
taking ~53 seconds. 'red_autotest' takes ~2[s] now.
'red_perf' has been added to run performance tests only).
'red_all' has been added to run all functional tests (including #4) and
perfromance tests. This reflects current 'red_autotest' behavior.

Other changes:
- machine TSC clock frequency detection takes place only once now.
- timeouts and number of iterations in functional tests have been reduced
  in order to shorten test duration.

53c3c30c11 pci: allow to override sysfs path
The SYSFS_PCI_DEVICES is a constant that makes the PCI testing
difficult as it points to an absolute path. We remove using this
constant and introducing a function pci_get_sysfs_path that gives
the same value. However, the user can pass a SYSFS_PCI_DEVICES env
variable to override the path. It is now possible to create a fake
sysfs hierarchy for testing.

ceabf73721 app/test: rename PCI blacklist test case
The current test_pci is just a single test case that tests the
blacklisting of devices. Rename it to test_pci_blacklist and call it
from the test_pci. The setup and cleanup are moved out of the
test_pci_blacklist entirely to cover all other tests.

into a fixed-sized array. This is inflexible. This patch change this to
utilize a linked list for the same purpose.

66819e6c11 app/test: support resources archived by tar
When a more complex resource (a file hierarchy) is needed, packing
every single file as a single resource would be very ineffective. For
that purpose, it is possible to pack the files into a tar archive,
extract it before test from the resource and finally clean up all the
created files.

This patch introduces functions resource_untar and resource_rm_by_tar
to perform those tasks. An example of using those functions is included
as a test.

A new dependency is required to build the app/test: libarchive.

ab64f5df80 app/test: support resources externally linked
To include resources from other source that the C source code we
can take advantage of the objcopy behaviour, i.e. packing of an
arbitrary file as an object file that is linked to the target program.

A linked object file is always accessible as a pair

extern const char beg_<name>;
extern const char end_<name>;
(extern const char siz_<name>;)

A unit test that packs the resource.c source file is included.

fe6923cbfd app/test: introduce resources for tests
Certain internal mechanisms of DPDK access different file system
structures (e.g. /sys/bus/pci/devices). It is difficult to test
those cases automatically by a unit test when such path is not
hard-coded and there is no simple way how to distribute fake ones
with the current testing environment.

This patch adds a possibility to declare a resource embedded in
the test binary itself. The structure resource cover the generic
situation - it provides a name for lookup and pointers to the
embedded data blob. A resource is registered in a constructor by
the macro REGISTER_RESOURCE.

Some initial tests of simple resources is included and added into
the group_1.

a3f34a98b7 log: deprecate history dump
The log history uses rte_mempool. In order to remove the mempool
dependency in EAL (and improve the build), this feature is deprecated.
The ABI is kept but the behaviour is now voided because it seems this
function was not used. The history can be read from syslog.

A bug has been detected by valgrind:

Invalid write of size 1
   by 0x86ECC76: sprintf (in /usr/lib/libc-2.23.so)
   by 0x430B0A: commands_init (in build/app/test)
   by 0x42F215: main (in build/app/test)
 Address 0x9d72ff2 is 0 bytes after a block of size 1,346 alloc'd
   at 0x78C1BD0: malloc (in vgpreload_memcheck-amd64-linux.so)
   by 0x430AE4: commands_init (in build/app/test)
   by 0x42F215: main (in build/app/test)

The commands buffer is exactly 1346 B long so there is an access just
after the buffer. The sprintf always writes '\0' at the end of the string.
The '#' separator adds 1 B more to each string. This is correct until the
last string is sprinted there. The last one is 1 B longer then expected,
i.e.:
      strlen(t->command) + strlen("#") + ONE_FOR_ZERO

fb847267ba app/test: fix log check when default level is high
The log unit test was checking display of low priority messages.
It was not working if RTE_LOG_LEVEL is not RTE_LOG_DEBUG.
It is even easier to see since the default level is INFO (9b9d7ca).

Now the test use ERR and CRIT levels which should be always enabled
while not trigerring syslog output on the console.

a2ccd6b742 mempool: remove macro to check if contiguous
This commit removes MEMPOOL_IS_CONTIG().

The next commits will change the behavior of the mempool library so that
the objects will never be allocated in the same memzone than the mempool
header. Therefore, there is no reason to keep this macro that would
always return 0.

This macro was only used in app/test.

213af31e09 mempool: reduce structure size if no cache needed
The rte_mempool structure is changed, which will cause an ABI change
for this structure. Providing backward compat is not reasonable
here as this structure is used in multiple defines/inlines.

Allow mempool cache support to be dynamic depending on if the
mempool being created needs cache support. Saves about 1.5M of
memory used by the rte_mempool structure.

Allocating small mempools which do not require cache can consume
larges amounts of memory if you have a number of these mempools.

The mempool element size is set to 0, but 4 bytes are written in
my_obj_init():

memory corruptions since we were writing outside of the object
boundaries.

In lines like:
    rte_memcpy(sym_op->cipher.iv.data, iv, iv_len);
when "iv" is 64 bytes long array, and "iv_len" is "unsigned int",
compiler tries to evaluate also a code for array size larger than 255 bytes
long and reports error "array subscript is above array bounds" in line:
	rte_memcpy.h:796
    rte_mov128((uint8_t *)dst + 128, (const uint8_t *)src + 128);
caused by evaluation to:
    rte_mov128((uint8_t *)sym_op->cipher.iv.data + 128, (const uint8_t *)iv
			+ 128);
where "iv" is 64 bytes long buffer and "iv + 128" point out of it, gcc 4.5.

Using uint8_t as a size of copied block prevents to evaluate in rte_memcpy
code for length bigger than 255, causing the problem.

a7e88f1782 app/test: fix reentrancy autotest
The previous code in func_reentrancy autotest was doing in parallel
something close to:

  name = "common_name";
  do several times {
      obj = allocate_an_object(name)   // obj = ring, mempool, hash, lpm, ...
      if (obj == NULL && lookup(name) == NULL)
          return TEST_FAIL;
  }

This code is not safe. For instance:

   mempool_create() is called on core 0, it creates a ring. At the same
   time on core 1, mempool_create() is called too and the creation of the
   ring fails (EEXIST). But the mempool lookup can fail on core 1 if
   the mempool is not added in the list by core 0.

This commit fixes the func_reentrancy autotest that now works with all
tested class of objects.

mode in order to receive LACPDUs and must filter unwanted packets

94b0ad8e0a null_crypto: add driver for null crypto operations
This patch provides the implementation of a NULL crypto PMD, which supports
NULL cipher and NULL authentication operations, which can be chained together
as follows:

- Authentication Only
- Cipher Only
- Authentication then Cipher
- Cipher then Authentication

As this is a NULL operation device the crypto operations which are submitted for
processing are not actually modified and are stored in a queue pairs processed
packets ring ready for collection when rte_cryptodev_burst_dequeue() is called.

The patch also contains the related unit tests function to test the PMDs
supported operations.

Added new SW PMD which makes use of the libsso SW library,
which provides wireless algorithms SNOW 3G UEA2 and UIA2
in software.

This PMD supports cipher-only, hash-only and chained operations
("cipher then hash" and "hash then cipher") of the following
algorithms:
- RTE_CRYPTO_SYM_CIPHER_SNOW3G_UEA2
- RTE_CRYPTO_SYM_AUTH_SNOW3G_UIA2

The SNOW 3G hash and cipher algorithms, which are enabled
by this crypto PMD are implemented by Intel's libsso software
library. For library download and build instructions,
see the documentation included (doc/guides/cryptodevs/snow3g.rst)

The patch also contains the related unit tests function to test the PMD
supported operations.

c0f87eb525 cryptodev: change burst API to be crypto op oriented
This patch modifies the crypto burst enqueue/dequeue APIs to operate on bursts
rte_crypto_op's rather than the current implementation which operates on
rte_mbuf bursts, this simplifies the burst processing in the crypto PMDs and the
use of crypto operations in general, including new functions for managing
rte_crypto_op pools.

These changes continues the separation of the symmetric operation parameters
from the more general operation parameters, which will simplify the integration
of asymmetric crypto operations in the future.

PMDs, unit tests and sample applications are also modified to work with the
modified and new API.

4c387fcdf7 pipeline: add new functions for action handlers
Two new pipeline API functions have been added to the library. The packet
hijack API function can be called by any input/output port or table action
handler to remove selected packets from the burst of packets read from one
of the pipeline input ports and then either send these packets out through
any pipeline output port or drop them.

Another packet drop API function can be used by the pipeline action
handlers (port in/out, table) to drop the packets selected using packet
mask. This function updates the drop statistics counters correctly.

88ac2fd99f pipeline: support packet redirection at action handlers
Currently, there is no mechanism that allows the pipeline ports (in/out)
and table action handlers to override the default forwarding decision
(as previously configured per input port or in the table entry). The port
(in/out) and table action handler prototypes have been changed to allow
pipeline action handlers (port in/out, table) to remove the selected
packets from the further pipeline processing and to take full ownership
for these packets. This feature will be helpful to implement functions
such as exception handling (e.g. TTL =0), load balancing etc.

4ea3801b32 app/test: fix ring unit test
If eth_ring vdevs are created from the command line with the --vdev option,
they create their own rings which are not shared by other vdevs.
Some of tests in this suite require that the vdevs share rings, so some
of the tests fail.

For vdevs to share rings they must be created in the test code with the
rte_eth_from_rings() function using rings created with the rte_ring_create()
function.

Use the command line option --vdev=eth_ring0 to create port 0.
This option is not mandatory for the tests to pass. It allows some additional
functional tests on cmd-line created rings to be executed.

Create two rings and five ethdevs in test_pmd_ring.c for ports 1 to 5,
and then use these to run the unit tests on the pmd ring functionality.

Improve test output by adding the port number to printf statements,
and adding a printf describing each test.

armv8-a has optional CRC32 extension, march=armv8-a+crc enables code
generation for the ARMv8-A architecture together with
the optional CRC32 extensions.

added RTE_MACHINE_CPUFLAG_CRC32 to detect the availability of
CRC32  extension in compile time. At run-time, The RTE_CPUFLAG_CRC32
can be used to find the availability.

armv8-a+crc target support added in GCC 4.9,
Used inline assembly and emulated __ARM_FEATURE_CRC32 to work
with tool-chain < 4.9

One of the ways to reproduce the issue:

testpmd> start

After some time TX on ixgbe queue will hang,
and all packet transmission on that queue will stop.

This bug was first reported and investigated by
Vlad Zolotarov <vladz@cloudius-systems.com>:
"We can reproduce this issue when stressed the xmit path with a lot of highly
fragmented TCP frames (packets with up to 33 fragments with non-headers
fragments as small as 4 bytes) with all offload features enabled."

The root cause is that ixgbe_xmit_pkts() in some cases violates the HW rule
that the distance between TDs with RS bit set should not exceed 40 TDs.

>From the latest 82599 spec update:
"When WTHRESH is set to zero, the software device driver should set the RS bit
in the Tx descriptors with the EOP bit set and at least once in the 40
descriptors."

The fix is to make sure that the distance between TDs with RS bit set
would never exceed HW limit.
As part of that fix, tx_rs_thresh for ixgbe PMD is not allowed to be greater
then to 32 to comply with HW restrictions.

With that fix slight slowdown for the full-featured ixgbe TX path
might be observed (from our testing - up to 4%).

ixgbe simple TX path is unaffected by that patch.

5915699153 hash: fix scaling by reducing contention
If using multiple cores on a system with hardware transactional
memory support, thread scaling does not work, as there was a single
point in the hash library which is a bottleneck for all threads,
which is the "free_slots" ring, which stores all the indices of
the free slots in the table.

This patch fixes the problem, by creating a local cache per logical core,
which stores locally indices of free slots,
so most times, writer threads will not interfere each other.

'virtual' is a keyword and can't be used if the code is to compile with

If rte_devargs.h was included in C++ code, compilation with clang++

ignores.

This simply renames the member to 'virt'.

b7f477920f app/test: fix bonding mode 5 Tx check
Test failed on verification if number of bytes
transmitted on each slave is not less than 90%
and greater than 110% of mean value of bytes transmitted
thru one slave. This was verified on a real system
but is difficult to achieve using virtualpmd.
That's why for unit tests only, it is sufficient to verify that with
high load (2 seconds transmission) all slaves are transmitting
so the traffic is balanced.

6d2d5e19e0 timer: add race condition test
Add new timer-manage race-condition test: We wrote a test to confirm
our suspicion that we could crash rte_timer_manage() under the right
circumstances. We repeatedly set several timers to expire at roughly
the same time on the master core. The master lcore just delays and runs
rte_timer_manage() about ten times per second. The slave lcores all
watch the first timer (timer-0) to see when rte_timer_manage() is
running on the master, i.e., timer-0's state is not PENDING.
At this point, each slave attempts to reset a subset of the timers to
a later expiration time. The goal here is to have the slaves moving
most of the timers to a different place in the master's pending-list,
while the master is traversing the same next-pointers (the slaves'
sl_next[0] pointers) and running callback functions. This eventually
results in the master traversing a corrupted linked-list.
In our observations, it results in an infinite loop.

a91311f45b timer: fix synchronization in stress test
Fix app/test timer stress test 2: Sometimes this test fails and
seg-faults because the slave lcores get out of phase with the master.
The master uses a single int, 'ready', to synchronize multiple slave
lcores through multiple phases of the test.

To resolve, we construct simple synchronization primitives that use one
atomic-int state variable per slave. The master tells the slaves when to
start, and then waits for all of them to finish. Each slave waits for
the master to tell it to start, and then tells the master when it has
finished.

ff909fe21f mem: introduce memzone freeing
Implement rte_memzone_free which, as its name implies, would free a
memzone.

Currently memzone are tracked in an array and cannot be free.
To be able to reuse the same array to track memzones, we have to
change how we keep track of reserved memzones.

With this patch, any memzone with addr NULL is not used, so we also need
to change how we look for the next memzone entry free.

Add new unit test for rte_memzone_free API.

f9edbc9bb6 hash: add iterate function
Since now rte_hash structure is private, a new function
has been added to let the user iterate through the hash table,
returning next key and data associated on each iteration,
plus the position where they were stored.

473d1bebce hash: allow to store data in hash table
Usually hash tables not only store keys, but also data associated
to them. In order to maintain the existing API, the old functions
will still return the index where the key was stored.
The new functions will return the data associated to that key.
In the case of the lookup_bulk function, it will return also
the number of entries found and a bitmask of which entries
were found.

Unit tests have been updated to use these new functions.

As a final point, a flag has been added in rte_hash_parameters
to indicate if there are new parameters for future versions,
so there is no need to maintain multiple versions
of the existing functions in the future.

48a3991196 hash: replace with cuckoo hash implementation
This patch replaces the existing hash library with another approach,
using the Cuckoo Hash method to resolve collisions (open addressing),
which pushes items from a full bucket when a new entry tries
to be added in it, storing the evicted entry in an alternative location,
using a secondary hash function.

This gives the user the ability to store more entries when a bucket
is full, in comparison with the previous implementation.
Therefore, the unit test has been updated, as some scenarios have changed
(such as the previous removed restriction).

Also note that the API has not been changed, although new fields
have been added in the rte_hash structure (structure is internal now).
The main change when creating a new table is that the number of entries
per bucket is fixed now, so its parameter is ignored now
(still there to maintain the same parameters structure).
The hash unit test has been updated to reflect these changes.

As a last note, the maximum burst size in lookup_burst function
hash been increased to 64, to improve performance.

359e17bf08 app/test: improve hash unit tests
Add new unit test for calculating the average table utilization,
using random keys, based on number of entries that can be added
until we encounter one that cannot be added (bucket if full).

Also, replace current hash_perf unit test to see performance more clearly.
The current hash_perf unit test takes too long and add keys that
may or may not fit in the table and look up/delete that may not be
in the table. This new unit test gets a set of keys that we know
that fits in the table, and then measure the time to add/look up/delete
them.

Note that performance numbers include time to take a random key
from a pre-made array of keys, plus a quick check of return value.
Also, as stated above, expect higher numbers, as all operations
in the new unit tests will be successful, which means that
it will take more time, than mixing both successful and unsuccesful
operations.

2465980ad2 app/test: decrease size of requested mempool
In test application, the default size of allocated mempool is calculated
as following:

  (RTE_MAX_LCORE * (RTE_MEMPOOL_CACHE_MAX_SIZE + max_kept_objects)) - 1

The objective is to ensure that all cores can fill their cache and keep
'max_kept_objects' at the same time. As RTE_MAX_LCORE is 128 and
RTE_MEMPOOL_CACHE_MAX_SIZE is 512 in the default configuration, it can
produce very large mempools (170 MB).

We can replace the number of core by a dynamic value, which drastically
reduces the amount of memory needed for this test (5 MB with 4 cores).

7621d6a8d0 eal: add and use unaligned integer types
On machines that are strict on pointer alignment, current code breaks
on GCC's -Wcast-align checks on casts from narrower to wider types.
This patch introduces new unaligned_uint(16|32|64)_t types, which
correctly retain alignment in such cases.  Strict alignment
architectures will need to define CONFIG_RTE_ARCH_STRICT_ALIGN in
order to effect these new types.

f1237c33d4 hash: update jhash function with the latest available
Jenkins hash function was developed originally in 1996,
and was integrated in first versions of DPDK.
The function has been improved in 2006,
achieving up to 35% better performance, compared to the original one.

This patch integrates that code into the rte_jhash library.
It also updates the precalculated hash values in the unit test,
as the code now returns different values (expected).

A final note has been added in release notes for stating
the changes made.

Add a new top-level "drivers" directory to which all PMDs will be moved
for easier maintenance of both lib folder and drivers themselves. This
new directory is a dependency of all the apps in the app folder, so
the makefiles for each app are updated.

more specifically our existing PMDs as ethernet drivers

824cb29c0e apps: fix default mbuf size
Latest mbuf changes (priv_size addition and related fixes)
exposed small problem with testpmd and few other sample apps:
when mbuf size is exaclty 2KB or less, that causes
ixgbe PMD to select scattered RX even for configs with 'normal'
max packet length (max_rx_pkt_len == ETHER_MAX_LEN).
To overcome that problem and unify the code, new macro was created
to represent recommended minimal buffer length for mbuf.
When appropriate, samples are updated to use that macro.

f12f13f2f6 use simple zero initializers
To initialize a structure with zeros, one field was explicitly set
to avoid "missing initializer" bug with old GCC (e.g. 4.4).
This warning is now disabled (commit <insertlater>) for old versions of GCC,
so the workarounds may be removed.

These initializers should not be needed for static variables but they
are still used to workaround an ICC bug (see commit b2595c4aa9).

There is one remaining exception where {0} initializer doesn't work cleanly,
even with recent GCC:
lib/librte_pmd_ixgbe/ixgbe_rxtx_vec.c:735:9:
error: missing braces around initializer [-Werror=missing-braces]

using  -Wbad-function-cast, such as in Open vSwitch where the

This register system makes it possible to reserve a tailq for the dpdk
libraries.
The "dynamic" tailqs are right after the "static" tailqs in shared mem.
Primary process is responsible for writing the tailq names, so that secondary
processes can find them.

This is a temp commit, "static" tailqs are removed after conversion of all
users in next commits.

7085f6c738 timer: fix reset return value
- API rte_timer_reset() should return -1 when the timer is in the
RUNNING or CONFIG state. Instead, it ignores the return value of
internal function __rte_timer_reset() and always returns 0.
We change rte_timer_reset() to return the value returned by
__rte_timer_reset().

- Enhance timer stress test 2 to report how many timer reset
collisions occur, i.e., how many times rte_timer_reset() fails
due to a timer being in the CONFIG state.

d6fe2f5ee0 app/test: fix missing NULL pointer checks
In test_sched, we are missing NULL pointer checks after create_mempool()
and rte_pktmbuf_alloc(). Add in these checks using TEST_ASSERT_NOT_NULL macros.

VERIFY macro was removed and replaced by standard test ASSERTS from "test.h" header.
This provides additional information to track when the failure occurred.

23df14d1ba devargs: restore empty devargs
Following commit c07691ae10, an implicit change has been done in the
devargs API.
This triggers problem in virtual pmds that did not check for parameters
validity as it was implicitely valid.

Fix this by restoring the empty argument as "" and add a note in the api.

6e6b34fb26 app/test: add unit tests for link bonding mode 6
Added 4 unit tests checking link bonding mode 6 behavior.

Also modified virtual_pmd so it is possible to provide packets,
that should be received with rx_burst and to inspect packets
transmitted by tx_burst.

In packet_burst_generator.c function creating eth_header is
modified, so it accepts ether_type as a parameter and function
creating arp_header is added. Updated other unit tests to get
rid of compilation errors.

ecd9d5193b bond: remove offload flags from transmit policy checks
The Link bonding library is incorrectly using receive packet type flags
in the transmit policy hashing functions, which would cause packets
generated locally to be incorrectly distributed across the slave
devices. This patch completely removes the dependency on the packet
type flags and uses the ether_type from either the Ethernet header or
the VLAN headers for branching.

This patch also includes the associate changes in the test suite and in
the packet_burst_generator code to remove the dependences on the packet
type flags.

7b00a204bb bond: fix vlan flag interpretation
This patch contains a fix for link bonding handling of vlan tagged packets in mode 3 and 5.
Currently xmit_slave_hash function misinterprets the PKT_RX_VLAN_PKT flag to mean that
there is a vlan tag within the packet when in actually means that there is a valid entry
in the vlan_tci field in the mbuf.

- Fixed VLAN tag support in hashing functions.
- Adds support for TCP in layer 4 header hashing.
- Splits transmit hashing function into separate functions for each policy to
  reduce branching and to make the code clearer.
- Fixed incorrect flag set in test application packet generator.

One occurrence call to strncmp had the closing brace in the wrong
place. Changing this form:
	if (strncmp(X, Y, sizeof(X) != 0))
which does a comparison of length 1, to
	if (strncmp(X, Y, sizeof(X)) != 0)
which does the correct length comparison and then compares the result
to zero in the "if" part.

Seen with clang-3.5:
  "error: size argument in 'strncmp' call is a comparison"

This patch is similar to 261386248 but it looks that one occurrence
was forgotten.

6f78a6651f app/test: check for mbuf allocation failure
If mbuf allocation failed for whatever reason, we would get a NULL
pointer exception in test_table_acl.c:test_pipeline_single_filter test
case.
We fix this by causing an early break out of the application loop. If we
quit the test immediately we would leak any existing allocated mbufs,
but by breaking instead, we allow the test to continue and clean up the
mbufs already in the pipeline, while still having a test failure as the
mbuf counts should not match.

Since commit a155d4301 "support link bonding device initialization",
EAL probes drivers to the PCI devices in rte_eal_init,
then PCI resources are mapped if a device
is bound to igb_uio driver, for instance.
Therefore, test app probes all the devices and multiprocess unit test
tries to map resources twice in the secondary processes, and test fails,
caused by RTE_PCI_DRV_NEEDED_MAPPING flag in dummy pci driver my_driver2.

Test is fixed by setting the driver flags to 0.

Since commit b91c67e5a6,
maximum number of cores is 128, which has increase
the total memory necessary for a rte_mempool structure,
as the per-lcore local cache has been doubled in size.
Therefore, eal_flags unit test was broken since it needed
to use more hugepages.

Increased memory to 18MB, as that is the actual minimum memory necessary
(depending on the physical memory segments, DPDK may need less memory)

aaa662e75c cmdline: fix overflow on bsd
When using test-pmd with flow director in FreeBSD, the application will
segfault/Bus error while parsing the command-line. This is due to how
each commands result structure is represented during parsing, where the offsets
for each tokens value is stored in a character array(char result_buf[BUFSIZ])
in cmdline_parse()(./lib/librte_cmdline/cmdline_parse.c).

The overflow occurs where BUFSIZ is less than the size of a commands result
structure, in this case "struct cmd_pkt_filter_result"
(app/test-pmd/cmdline.c) is 1088 bytes and BUFSIZ on FreeBSD is 1024 bytes as
opposed to 8192 bytes on Linux.

The problem can be reproduced by running test-pmd on FreeBSD:
./testpmd -c 0x3 -n 4 -- -i --portmask=0x3 --pkt-filter-mode=perfect
And adding a filter:
add_perfect_filter 0 udp src 192.168.0.0 1024 dst 192.168.0.0 1024 flexbytes
0x800 vlan 0 queue 0 soft 0x17

This patch removes the OS dependency on BUFSIZ and defines and uses a
library #define CMDLINE_PARSE_RESULT_BUFSIZE 8192

Added boundary checking to ensure this buffer size cannot overflow, with
an error message being produced.

In current version, used cores can only be specified using a bitmask.
It will now be possible to specify cores in 2 different ways:
- Using a bitmask (-c [0x]nnn): bitmask must be in hex format
- Using a list in following format: -l <c1>[-c2][,c3[-c4],...]

The letter -l can stand for lcore or list.

-l 0-7,16-23,31 being equivalent to -c 0x80FF00FF

002ade70e9 app/test: measure cycles per packet in Rx/Tx
The unit test can be used to measure cycles per packet in different rx/tx routines.
The NIC works in loopback mode. So it doesn't require test equipment to measure throughput.
As result, the unit test shows the average cycles per packet consuming.
When doing the test, make sure the link is UP.

Usage Example:
1. Run unit test app in interactive mode

Usage Example:

It also supports to measure standalone RX burst cycles.
In this way, it won't repeat re-send received packets.
Now it measures two situations, poll before/after xmit(w or w/o desc. cache conflict)
Usage Example:
Set stream control mode, by default is continuous
    set_rxtx_sc [continuous|poll_before_xmit|poll_after_xmit]

eea0730f18 app/test: fix pci registration
Since commit a155d43011 ("support link bonding device initialization"),
rte_eal_pci_probe() is called in rte_eal_init().
pci_autotest called it to bind devices to the test_driver and test_driver2.
Therefore, the function is called twice and devices already allocated
will cause the test fail.

This patch solves that issue, unregistering all previous drivers before
calling rte_eal_pci_probe() for the first time, so DPDK does not try
to allocate data for the devices, binding them to their previous
drivers again.

b600409890 app/test: fix memory needs since tailq rework
As a result of moving tailq's into local memory, some tailq data
is now reserved in rte_malloc heaps (because it needs to be
shared across DPDK processes). The first thing DPDK initializes
is a log mempool, and since it creates a tailq, it reserves
space in rte_malloc heap before allocating the mempool itself.
By default, rte_malloc allocates way more space than is necessary,
so under some conditions (namely, overall memory available is low)
this results in malloc heap eating up so much memory that log
mempool is not able to allocate its memzone.

This patch fixes the unit tests to account for that change.

fa7f63e7e2 bond: disable broadcast mode if mbuf refcnt is disabled
Link bonding broadcast mode requires refcnt parameter in the mbuf struct to
allow efficient transmission of duplicated mbufs on slave ports.

This patch disables broadcast mode when the complication option RTE_MBUF_REFCNT
is disabled to allow clean building of the bonding library.
A warning message notify user of disabling of broadcast mode.

0c6bc8ef70 kni: memzone pool for alloc and release
The previous implementation of rte_kni_alloc() was allocating memzones with a
name composed of a fixed string and the interface name. When an application was
allocating and deallocating multiple interfaces with different names, memzones
were quickly exhausted, even though memzones from deallocated interfaces were
never used anymore (unless an interface with the same name was re-allocated).
As a result, the application was unable to allocate more KNI interfaces with
different names.

This patch implements the KNI memzone pool in order to prevent memzone
exhaustion when allocating/deallocating KNI interfaces. It adds a new API call,
rte_kni_init(max_kni_ifaces) that shall be called before any call to
rte_kni_alloc() if KNI is used. The memzones are pre-allocated with interface-
independent names so that they can be reused.

46bf72f97b app/test: fix crash for fbk hashes with a lot of entries
The four-byte-key (fbk) autotest was allocating the keys to be used for
the test on the stack. When the number of entries in the table was
increased significantly, for example, to test larger hashes by increase the
value of ENTRIES, this array of keys was greater than that
allowed on the stack, and so caused problems, i.e. crashes and core dumps.

The solution is to have the keys dynamically allocated on the heap using
malloc. Now if ENTRIES is increased and we run out of memory we get an
error message instead of a crash.
