c277b34c1b mbuf: add function returning buffer address
This patch introduces two new functions - rte_mbuf_buf_addr() and
rte_mbuf_data_addr_default().

rte_mbuf_buf_addr() reutrns the buffer address of given mbuf which comes
after mbuf structure and private data.

rte_mbuf_data_addr_default() returns the default address of mbuf data
taking the headroom into account.

6af649a44c mbuf: fix C++ compatibility by making sched struct visible
Although C compilation works with the struct rte_mbuf_sched
declared inside the struct rte_mbuf namespace, C++ fails to
compile. This fix moves the rte_mbuf_sched struct up to the
global namespace, instead of declaring it inside the struct
mbuf namespace.

The struct rte_mbuf_sched is being used on the stack in
rte_mbuf_sched_get() and as a cast in _set(). For this
reason, it must be exposed as an available type.

5d3f721009 mbuf: implement generic format for sched field
This patch implements the changes proposed in the deprecation
notes [1][2].

librte_mbuf changes:
The mbuf->hash.sched field is updated to support generic
definition in line with the ethdev traffic manager and meter APIs.
The new generic format contains: queue ID, traffic class, color.

Added public APIs to set and get these new fields to and from mbuf.

librte_sched changes:
In addtion, following API functions of the sched library have
been modified with an additional parameter of type struct
rte_sched_port to accommodate the changes made to mbuf sched field.
(i)rte_sched_port_pkt_write()
(ii) rte_sched_port_pkt_read_tree_path()

librte_pipeline, qos_sched UT, qos_sched app are updated
to make use of new changes.

Also mbuf->hash.txadapter has been added for eventdev txq,
rte_event_eth_tx_adapter_txq_set and rte_event_eth_tx_adapter_txq_get()
are updated to use mbuf->hash.txadapter.txq.

doc:
Release notes updated.
Removed deprecation notice for mbuf->hash.sched and sched API.

839b20be0e ethdev: support metadata as flow rule criteria
As described in [1], a new rte_flow item is added to support metadata
to use as flow rule match pattern.
The metadata is an opaque item, fully controlled by the application.

The use of metadata is relevant for egress rules only.
It can be set in the flow rule using the RTE_FLOW_ITEM_META.

An additional member 'tx_metadata' is added in union with existing member
'hash' of struct 'rte_mbuf', located to avoid conflicts with existing
fields. This additional member is used to carry the metadata item.

Application should set the packet metadata in the mbuf dedicated field,
and set the PKT_TX_METADATA flag in the mbuf->ol_flags.
The NIC will use the packet metadata as match criteria for relevant
flow rules.

This patch introduces metadata item type for rte_flow RTE_FLOW_ITEM_META,
along with corresponding struct rte_flow_item_meta and ol_flag
PKT_TX_METADATA.

a53aa2b9f3 mbuf: support attaching external buffer
This patch introduces a new way of attaching an external buffer to a mbuf.

Attaching an external buffer is quite similar to mbuf indirection in
replacing buffer addresses and length of a mbuf, but a few differences:
  - When an indirect mbuf is attached, refcnt of the direct mbuf would be
    2 as long as the direct mbuf itself isn't freed after the attachment.
    In such cases, the buffer area of a direct mbuf must be read-only. But
    external buffer has its own refcnt and it starts from 1. Unless
    multiple mbufs are attached to a mbuf having an external buffer, the
    external buffer is writable.
  - There's no need to allocate buffer from a mempool. Any buffer can be
    attached with appropriate free callback.
  - Smaller metadata is required to maintain shared data such as refcnt.

5355f4439e ethdev: introduce generic IP/UDP tunnel checksum and TSO
This patch introduce new TX offload flags for device that supports
IP or UDP tunneled packet L3/L4 checksum and TSO offload.
It will be used for non-standard tunnels.

The support from the device is for inner and outer checksums on
IPV4/TCP/UDP and TSO for *any packet with the following format*:

<some headers> / [optional IPv4/IPv6] / [optional TCP/UDP] / <some
headers> / [optional inner IPv4/IPv6] / [optional TCP/UDP]

For example the following packets can use this feature:

1. eth / ipv4 / udp / VXLAN / ip / tcp
2. eth / ipv4 / GRE / MPLS / ipv4 / udp

Please note that specific tunnel headers that contain payload length,

0d440d081c lib: fix missing includes in exported headers
Many exported headers rely on definitions found in rte_config.h without
including it, as shown by the following command:

      build/include/rte_config.h) \
    -- build/include/)

We cannot assume external applications will include rte_config.h on their
own, neither directly nor through a -include parameter like DPDK does
internally.

This not only causes obvious compilation failures that can be reproduced
with check-includes.sh such as:

 [...]/rte_memory.h:88:43: error: ‘RTE_CACHE_LINE_SIZE’ was not declared in
     this scope
  #define __rte_cache_aligned __rte_aligned(RTE_CACHE_LINE_SIZE)
                                            ^

It also results in less visible issues, for instance rte_hash_crc.h relying
on RTE_ARCH_X86_64's presence to provide dedicated inline functions.

This patch partially reverts the commit below and adds missing include
lines to the remaining files.

380a7aab1a mbuf: rename deprecated VLAN flags
PKT_RX_VLAN_PKT and PKT_RX_QINQ_PKT are deprecated for a while.
As explained in [1], these flags were kept to let the applications and
PMDs move to the new flag. There is also a need to support Rx vlan
offload without vlan strip (at least for the ixgbe driver).

This patch renames the old flags for this feature, knowing that some
PMDs were using PKT_RX_VLAN_PKT and PKT_RX_QINQ_PKT to indicate that
the vlan tci has been saved in the mbuf structure.

It is likely that some PMDs do not set the proper flags when doing vlan
offload, and it would be worth making a pass on all of them.

cb327a7802 mbuf: reduce pktmbuf init cycles
There is no need for initializing the complete
packet buffer with zero as the packet data area will be
overwritten by the NIC Rx HW anyway.

The testpmd configures the packet mempool
with around 180k buffers with
2176B size. In existing scheme, the init routine
needs to memset around ~370MB vs the proposed scheme
requires only around ~22MB on 128B cache aligned system.

Useful in running DPDK in HW simulators/emulators,
where millions of cycles have an impact on boot time.

586ec205bc mbuf: fix 64-bit address alignment in 32-bit builds
On i686 builds, the uin64_t type is 64-bits in size but is aligned to
32-bits only. This causes mbuf fields for rearm_data to not be 16-byte
aligned on 32-bit builds, which causes errors with some vector PMDs which
expect the rearm data to be aligned as on 64-bit.

Given that we cannot use the extra space in the data structures anyway, as
it's already used on 64-bit builds, we can just force alignment of the
physical address in the mbuf to 8-bytes in all cases. This has no effect on
64-bit systems, but fixes the updated PMDs on 32-bit.

dc448dc460 mbuf: make rearm data address naturally aligned
To avoid multiple stores on fast path, Ethernet drivers
aggregate the writes to data_off, refcnt, nb_segs and port
to an uint64_t data and write the data in one shot
with uint64_t* at &mbuf->rearm_data address.

Some of the non-IA platforms have store operation overhead
if the store address is not naturally aligned.This patch
fixes the performance issue on those targets.

8f094a9ac5 mbuf: set mbuf fields while in pool
Set the value of m->refcnt to 1, m->nb_segs to 1 and m->next
to NULL when the mbuf is stored inside the mempool (unused).
This is done in rte_pktmbuf_prefree_seg(), before freeing or
recycling a mbuf.

Before this patch, the value of m->refcnt was expected to be 0
while in pool.

The objectives are:

- to avoid drivers to set m->next to NULL in the early Rx path, since
  this field is in the second 64B of the mbuf and its access could
  trigger a cache miss

- rationalize the behavior of raw_alloc/raw_free: one is now the
  symmetric of the other, and refcnt is never changed in these functions.

To optimize the freeing of the segments, we try try to only update
m->refcnt, m->next, and m->nb_segs when it's required (idea from
Konstantin Ananyev <konstantin.ananyev@intel.com>).

feb9f680cd mk: optimize directory dependencies
Before this patch, the management of dependencies between directories
had several issues:

- the generation of .depdirs, done at configuration is slow: it can take
  more than one minute on some slow targets (usually ~10s on a standard
  PC without -j).

- for instance, it is possible to express a dependency like:
  - app/foo depends on lib/librte_foo
  - and lib/librte_foo depends on app/bar
  But this won't work because the directories are traversed with a
  depth-first algorithm, so we have to choose between doing 'app' before
  or after 'lib'.

- the script depdirs-rule.sh is too complex.

- we cannot use "make -d" for debug, because the output of make is used for
  the generation of .depdirs.

This patch moves the DEPDIRS-* variables in the upper Makefile, making
the dependencies much easier to calculate. A DEPDIRS variable is still
used to process library dependencies in LDLIBS.

After this commit, "make config" is almost immediate.
