New added files:
mlx5_win_defs.h - this file imports missing definitions from Linux
rdma-core library and Linux OS.
mlx5_win_ext.h - this file contains structs that enable a unified
Linux/Windows API. Each struct has an equivalent (but different) Linux
struct. By calling with 'void *' pointers - the Linux/Windows API is

9b7d7440e8 common/mlx5: wrap memory allocation on Windows
This commit is the Windows equivalent of the Linux implementation. The
APIs included in this commit: mlx5_os_malloc(), mlx5_os_free(). For
memory allocations (with or without alignment) we always call
_aligned_malloc(). Even if zero alignment was requested in the first
place - we always select a minimal alignment value. In this way when the
memory is free - it is always safe to call _aligned_free().

7e7af4e99a common/mlx5: wrap memory allocation on Linux
mlx5_malloc() API has an alignment parameter for system memory
allocations. malloc() is called for non-aligned allocations and
posix_memalign() is called for aligned allocations. When calling
mlx5_free() there is no distinction whether the memory was originally
allocated with or without alignment. Freeing a memory may be handled
differently by operating systems. Therefore this commit wraps these APIs
with OS specific calls: mlx5_os_malloc(), mlx5_os_free().

429ed2f9ec common/sfc_efx/base: support alternative MAE match fields
If MAE slice is configured without conntrack support, outer
rules must match on IP SRC/DST. This isn't reported clearly
by the FW because IPv4 and IPv6 have separate SRC/DST pairs.
The FW reports status ALWAYS for all these four fields, and
having an all-zeros mask for either field prevents the spec
from being certified by the existing spec validation method.

Extend the spec validation to take the "alternative" fields

023b46db54 common/octeontx2: fix mbox response by syncing data types

fields wrt rvu_pfvf structure as in msix offset mbox handler,
respective block LFs response field is initialised with rvu_pfvf

This mismatch in data types resulted in a bug where no sso msix

105d214965 net/mlx5: fix aging queue doorbell ringing
Recent patch introduced a new SQ for ASO flow hit management.
This SQ uses two WQEBB's for each WQE.
The SQ producer index is 16 bits wide.

The enqueue loop posts new WQEs to the ASO SQ, using WQE index for
the SQ management.
This 16 bits index multiplied by 2 was wrongly used also for SQ
doorbell ringing.
The multiplication caused the SW index overlapping to be out of sync
with the hardware index, causing it to get stuck.

This patch separates the WQE index management from the doorbell index
management.
So, for each WQE index incrementation by 1, the doorbell index is
incremented by 2.

992e6df3da common/mlx5: free MR resource on device DMA unmap
mlx5 PMD created the MR (Memory Region) resource on the
mlx5_dma_map call to make the memory available for DMA
operations. On the mlx5_dma_unmap call the MR resource
was not freed but inserted to MR Free list for further

Actual MR resource destroying happened on device stop
call. That caused the runtime out of memory in case of
application performed multiple DMA map/unmap calls.

The fix immediately frees the MR resource on mlx5_dma_unmap

e82ddd28e3 common/mlx5: split PCI relaxed ordering for read and write
The current DevX implementation of the relaxed ordering feature is
enabling relaxed ordering usage only if both relaxed ordering read AND
write are supported. In that case both relaxed ordering read and write
are activated.

This commit will optimize the usage of relaxed ordering by enabling it
when the read OR write features are supported. Each relaxed ordering
type will be activated according to its own capability bit.

This will align the DevX flow with the verbs implementation of

f935ed4b64 net/mlx5: support flow hit action for aging
A new ASO (Advanced Steering Operation) feature was added in the last

Using this new steering action, the driver can detect flow traffic hit

54c2d46b16 net/mlx5: support flow tag and packet header miniCQEs
CQE compression allows us to save the PCI bandwidth and improve
the performance by compressing several CQEs together to a miniCQE.
But the miniCQE size is only 8 bytes and this limits the ability
to successfully keep the compression session in case of various
traffic patterns.

The current miniCQE format only keeps the compression session alive
in case of uniform traffic with the Hash RSS as the only difference.
There are requests to keep the compression session in case of tagged
traffic by RTE Flow Mark Id and mixed UDP/TCP and IPv4/IPv6 traffic.
Add 2 new miniCQE formats in order to achieve the best performance
for these traffic patterns: Flow Tag and Packet Header miniCQEs.

The existing rxq_cqe_comp_en devarg is modified to specify the
desired miniCQE format. Specifying 2 selects Flow Tag format
for better compression rate in case of RTE Flow Mark traffic.
Specifying 3 selects Checksum format (existing format for MPRQ).
Specifying 4 selects L3/L4 Header format for better compression
rate in case of mixed TCP/UDP and IPv4/IPv6 traffic.

cdb034a8c1 common/mlx5/linux: replace malloc and free in glue
This commit replaces mlx5_malloc and mlx5_free calls with Linux calls
malloc and free in file mlx5_glue.c.
The current mlx5_malloc calls have no flags, alignment or socket
selection, so they are equivalent to calling malloc. Rdma-core itself
is using malloc. When using mlx5_malloc the glue library is dependent
on common_mlx5 library which must be compiled first. Not doing so and
in case ibverbs_link=dlopen will result in compilation failure:
mlx5_glue.c: undefined reference to `mlx5_malloc'.
To make all of this simpler and remove the common_mlx5 dependency - this
commit does the alloc/free replacements.

799889bada common/sfc_efx/base: add action set spec init/fini APIs
The engine is only able to carry out chosen actions on matching packets in
a strict order. No MCDI exists to identify supported actions and the order.
Still, the definition of the latter is available from the FW documentation.

The general idea is to define an action specification structure and supply
a client driver with APIs for adding actions individually, order-dependent.
A client driver is supposed to invoke an API on every action passed by the
application, and if an out-of-order action follows, the API will reject it.

Add an action set specification stub and supply initialise / finalise APIs.

bb71f7e0a3 common/sfc_efx/base: add match specs class comparison API
From MAE standpoint, a flow rule belongs to some class. Field capabilities
advertised by the FW provide a hint on whether changing a particular match
field value or its mask will affect the class of the rule. A client driver
can make use of the concept of a class by comparing a rule being validated
with already inserted ones so that if an existing rule with the same class
is encountered, it will become possible to skip making an explicit request
to the FW because the class of an already inserted rule is wittingly valid.

Implement an API for client drivers to carry out the said class comparison.

b75eb50d04 common/sfc_efx/base: add match spec init/fini APIs
An MAE rule is a function of match criteria and a priority. The said match
criteria have to be provided using "mask-value pairs" packing format which
on its own should not be exposed to client drivers. The latter have to use
a functional interface of sorts in order to generate a match specification.

Define an EFX match specification and implement initialise / finalise APIs.
The "mask-value pairs" buffer itself is not used in this particular patch,
so the corresponding struct member will be added in the follow-up patch.

a20b2c01a7 build: standardize component names and defines
As discussed on the dpdk-dev mailing list[1], we can make some easy
improvements in standardizing the naming of the various components in DPDK,
and their associated feature-enabled macros.

Following this patch, each library will have the name in format,
'librte_<name>.so', and the macro indicating that library is enabled in the
build will have the form 'RTE_LIB_<NAME>'.

Similarly, for libraries, the equivalent name formats and macros are:
'librte_<class>_<name>.so' and 'RTE_<CLASS>_<NAME>', where class is the
device type taken from the relevant driver subdirectory name, i.e. 'net',
'crypto' etc.

To avoid too many changes at once for end applications, the old macro names
will still be provided in the build in this release, but will be removed
subsequently.

2ca75c65af common/qat: build drivers from common folder
Since the drivers in the common directory can be processed out of order, in
this case following the "bus" directory, we can simplify somewhat the build
of the QAT driver to be done entirely from the "common/qat" folder rather
than having it's build distributed across 3 folders.

This also opens up the possibility of building the QAT driver with crypto
only and the compression part disabled. It further allows more sensible
naming of the resulting shared library in case of standardizing library
names based on device class; i.e. common_qat is more descriptive for a
combined crypto/compression driver than either of the other two prefixes
individually.

691ad36245 common/iavf: support VF with more than 16 queues
Currently there are limitations in the virthcnl.h interface that only
allow a maximum of 16 queues to be used by a VF driver. Add support in
virtchnl.h to allow a VF driver to request >16 queues. Also, the RSS
qregion size is currently assumed to be the max number of queues a VF
can request and/or is given on initialization. With larger VFs this
assumption can no longer be made, so add a new op to support querying
the max RSS qregion size.

In order to request more queues than the initially given queues the VF
driver needs to use the VIRTCHNL_OP_REQUEST_QUEUES opcode.

The VF is given more >16 queues it should use the new
VIRTCHNL_OP_GET_MAX_RSS_QREGION to determine its max qregion size. This
is needed to correctly configure the RSS LUT and/or configure filters
based on queue base/offset and queue region size.

If the VF is configuring >16 queues it should use the following opcodes
to configure the qeueus and interrupts after successfully requesting
them.

VIRTCHNL_OP_MAP_QUEUE_VECTOR
VIRTCHNL_OP_ENABLE_QUEUES_V2
VIRTCHNL_OP_DISABLE_QUEUES_V2

Also, add support in virtchnl_vc_validate_vf_msg() to validate the above
messages. As a part of this move the virtchnl_vector_limits enumeration
directly above the function it's used.

3ba2e519ea common/dpaax/caamflib: support PDCP-SDAP
The SDAP is a protocol in the LTE stack on top of PDCP. It is
dedicated to QoS.

The difficulty of implementing this protocol is because the
PDCP change behavior regarding encryption and authentication
of the SDU it receives. In effect PDCP shall not encrypt the
SDAP SDU but must authenticate it (when encryption and
authentication is enabled).

The current version of SEC does not support the SDAP and the
change of behavior of PDCP prevent the use of the PDCP
protocol command available.

The way to do it is to reuse the PDCP implementation but to
not use the PDCP protocol and to have descriptors which
performs the PDCP protocol.

It is implemented by doing small changes of code:
        #ifdef SDAP_SUPPORT
                length += SDAP_BYTE_SIZE;
                offset -= SDAP_BYTE_SIZE;
        #endif
after having computed the size of the SN to read from the
input data, then
        #ifdef SDAP_SUPPORT
                MATHI(p, MATH0, LSHIFT, 8, MATH1, 8, 0);
                MATHB(p, MATH1, AND, sn_mask, MATH1, 8, IFB | IMMED2);
        #else
                MATHB(p, MATH0, AND, sn_mask, MATH1, 8, IFB | IMMED2);
        #endif
It will keep the SN and the SDAP header in MATH0, then shift

e9b9739264 config: remap flags used for Arm platforms
RTE_ARCH_xx flags are used to distinguish platform architectures.
These flags can be used to pick different code paths for different
architectures at compile time.
For Arm platforms, there are 3 flags in use: RTE_ARCH_ARM,
RTE_ARCH_ARMv7 and RTE_ARCH_ARM64.
RTE_ARCH_ARM64 is for 64-bit aarch64 platforms,
and RTE_ARCH_ARM & RTE_ARCH_ARMv7 are for 32-bit platforms.
RTE_ARCH_ARMv7 is for ARMv7 platforms as its name suggested.

The issue is meaning of RTE_ARCH_ARM is not clear enough.
Because no info about platform word length is included in the name.
To make the flag names more clear, a naming scheme is proposed.

RTE_ARCH_ARM (all Arm platforms)
    |
+----RTE_ARCH_32 (New. 32-bit platforms of all architectures)
    | |
    | +----RTE_ARCH_ARMv7 (ARMv7 platforms)
    | |
    | +----RTE_ARCH_ARMv8_AARCH32 (aarch32 state on aarch64 machine)
    |
+----RTE_ARCH_64 (64-bit platforms of all architectures)
             |
             +----RTE_ARCH_ARM64 (64-bit Arm platforms)

RTE_ARCH_32 will be explicitly defined for 32-bit platforms.

To fit into the new naming scheme, current usage of RTE_ARCH_ARM in
project is mapped to (RTE_ARCH_ARM && RTE_ARCH_32).

Matching flags for other architectures are:
RTE_ARCH_X86
    |
    +----RTE_ARCH_32
    | |
    | +----RTE_ARCH_I686
    | |
    | +----RTE_ARCH_X86_X32
    |
    +----RTE_ARCH_64

482a1d34b6 common/mlx5: fix PCI address lookup
mlx5 PMDs use the mlx5_dev_to_pci_addr() routine to convert
Infiniband device name to the Bus-Device-Function location
on the PCI bus. The routine returned success even in case of
not found identification string. On caller side it likely
caused the wrong match with the BDF of previous device
resulting in wrong representor and master recognitions.

07999984f1 common/sfc_efx/base: replace PCI efsys macros with functions
efsys macros that manipulate PCI devices cannot be defined in
common sfc_efx DPDK driver since in DPDK build the bus drivers
that provide required functionality are built after common drivers.

Replace the macros with function callbacks to remove that build
dependency. Drivers now should pass the callbacks directly to
efx function instead of defining implementation in efsys.

72e9af0503 common/sfc_efx/base: introduce states for UDP tunnel entries
UDP tunnel reconfigure operation takes UDP tunnel table, which contains
entries that need to be applied to HW. This approach does not retain
information about what entries were removed or added, which is required
for Riverhead.

Add states to the table entries to indicate add or remove operations.
On tunnel reconfiguration added and removed entries become busy to
indicate that the entries are currently configured and to prevent add or
remove operations from other threads. After tunnel reconfiguration is
complete, the states are reset - added entries become applied and
removed entries are purged from the table.
